Sept 4, 2016 It is early morning on day 4 of our adventure. Despite this being an unscheduled, take it as it comes trip, we have been pushing pretty hard so far. Having left a little later than anticipated, we want to get out of the great lakes before any nasty autumn weather hits. And so we haven’t stepped foot off the boat for 48 hours. Instead we have been running 10-12 hours. But we have made good headway. Leaving Port Stanley on Sept 2, we made our way past Erieau and around Point Pelee arriving to anchor near Leamington at around 9:30pm. Sunday morning, Barb, And I were sitting watching Pete scroll thru the TV channels when he landed on a two part mini series, Broken Trail, starring Robert Duval. We watched for 2 hours before we realized it was 2 parts. Pete recorded Part 2 so we could do something besides watch tv all day. We ended up having a lazy day of doing absolutely nothing except sitting and watching life on the lake pass us by. Pete made his world famous chicken crockpot stew with dumplings for dinner, and the girls played hand and foot. Playing 3 handed hand and foot is quite different than 4 handed with partners. Biking Michigan’s Wadhams to Avoca Trail Text and Photos last updated: August 2018 Number of times we have biked this trail:6 Location: Wadham (Port Huron) to Avoca Distance: 20 km (12 miles) Surface: Paved and limestone surface Width: 3 metres Grade: Flat Conditions of trail: good Parking: Four main ones Water: None on trail Washrooms: Porta Potties Rest Areas: Bench Trail marking: Good This is a 20 kilometres rail trail located just west of Port Huron Michigan. Starting at Wadhams, the first 8 kilometres are paved between Griswold Road and McLain Road. The remaining 12 kilometres between McLain Road and Avoca is crushed limestone and fairly smooth.
