I arrived in Detroit on the 1st of June and was met by one of the camp staff, that by the way has been fired for swearing and being rough with the kids.
But anyway I got settled in and had a day to chill at camp and have a look around. Then I went to a place called Alma for 3 days, 2 hours from camp to do an American red cross lifeguard course.
The next week we had a few days of staff training then a school group for 3 days. I taught a few canoe lessons a day and it was pretty Cruisey. We had camp fire on the last night and sung a heap of songs and they get stuck in your head, it's real bad, but a heap of fun.
The camp is set on fish lake in holly Michigan, surrounded by 300 acres of forest. The area is real nice, really green and lush and there are lots of animals around deer, chipmunks, squirrels, fish and turtles.
The camp has heaps of canoes and boats, a rock climbing tower, with flying fox and high ropes course, a swimming area surrounded by floating pontoons,

archery ranges and heaps of walking tracks through the forest.
Next week camp starts for real, all day every day, I'll tell ya how it goes.
