Packing was a lot less stressful than I thought it was going to be. I managed to fit both our sleeping bags and all my clothes and footwear into one suitcase. Dad, you would be proud.
Jamie just finished packing and did a pretty good job. In an attempt to be a domesticated housewife, I tried to pack for him, but I gave up after half an hour.
Now that that's out of the way, here are some details about the Murphinelli West Coast Crusade!
We are flying out of Logan tomorrow at 7 a.m. We have a 5 hr flight to Utah and then an hour or so flight to L.A, and then a two hour flight to Seattle. This lovely 2-stop itinerary is courtesy of Delta Airlines, who canceled the "direct" Boston to L.A flight. Oh well, I've always wanted to see Salt Lake City. Any bets on whether or not our luggage will make it to Seattle with us? :)
When we arrive in Seattle we'll be staying at the Mayflower Park Hotel for a couple of days before we start "roughing it" at the campgrounds. I put quotes around "roughing it" because whoever has been reading Kristin Howell's blog about her South East Asia trip will see our camping experiences pale in comparison (I highly recommend that even if you don't know Kristin, that you check this travelblog out- truly an amazing trip.)
Anyways, Jamie will be taking a gazillion pictures, and I'll be doing my best to try not to be a backseat driver.
Simba and Nala will be spending our vacation with my lovely parents. Thank you for watching them!!
Next time we blog, we'll be in good ole Seattle sipping some coffee at Pike's Place Starbucks. (Thanks Mike, for the recommendation.... it will be interesting to go to a new coffee shop that we don't have around here.)
See you all on the west side! *Melissa makes feeble attempt to do the west side sign*
