Minnesota 2008

Well it begins for me anyway - and by me I mean Kaitlyn, because that's me. I have, as of yesterday, officially departed from Jersey and made my way via Amtrak to that place between the mid-Atlantic and the Great White North. Namely, Vanessa's house on the North Shore of Massachusetts. And so here we are, two peas in an odd pod, back together after three and half months of seemingly endless employment and onto the wonder and insanity that is surely to ensue once we actually leave the country (which by the way will be occurring on Sunday the 31st). The day has finally arrived for us to travel coast to coast and back again. For all of those that have been curious about an itinerary we know exactly where we are headed...Cooperstown, NY! Tuesday, July 1st we picked up our new home. I am not sure how many of you have lived on an RV but I am comfortable saying that it is a BIT smaller than home. Chris and I watched a video about how to run all of the essentials and we want you to rest assured that with all of our college degrees we will be able [View Full Entry]

So, it is almost time for the RV to take off from Newburyport. We have officially started counting down the days for the trip as well as writing lists of things to do before we leave. Laundry is being done, piles of life's necessities are being made and shopping trips planned. If you all could see our piles right now you would begin to wonder about this trip. I am bringing my new ice cream maker that I got for Christmas from the boys'...you make it in a ball, can you imagine? Ok, maybe a science teacher would enjoy this more [View Full Entry]

Well Boston seems really... nice. Nice just seems like the right word 2 describe Boston. Where as New York was overwhelming and hectic (in a good way). Boston just seems 2 roll at a much leisurely pace. We got up this morning and went 2 a place near by to get breakfast... an all american freakin breakfast!! And suffice 2 say i haven't felt the need 2 eat since. We got the bus and then the tram in2 Boston downtown and walked 2 Boston common where we began the freedom trail. Now 4 those Brits i.e. every1 who is readin this [View Full Entry]

Ok yeah, i suck pretty bad at this bloggin thing... in the fact that i don't do it enough!!! Well i suppose i have a lot 2 write about in this one! Can't really remember where i left off but it was somewhere in NYC. Let me tell u that at no point in NYC did i get sick of it, i mean we were there for 9 days and didn't really even scratch the service of "things 2 do". We got a boat to the statue of liberty, which is impressive and then we went 2 ellis island, which was [View Full Entry]

Robyn and I went to Salem today via the commuter Rail. Famous for the witch trials in 1692, the whole town has a creepy vibe to it. Interestingly, what seems like a dark page in the town’s history that it at one time wanted to forget about, now its seems as though the dark story has become a novelty item that has kept the town prosperous thanks to tourism. We went to a trial reenactment and then through a recreation of the Salem Dungeon that people were locked up and tortured. After that we walked around Salem and got a sense [View Full Entry]

Dave and I met a few years ago and have always had an attraction to one another but our timing was never right...until, that is, last Fall when we became re-aquainted and found that there was a chemistry between us. We consider our first "date" as Christmas Eve of 2006, when I invited him to come to the Christmas Eve program my kids were in at my church. Later that night, we were standing in my kitchen and I realized there was a lot to this man, and I wanted to get to know him better! Fortunately for me, he was [View Full Entry]

My first blog, ever! I have traveled a lot in my life, and now I decided I want to document it. On the 9th I am going on my first trip to Japan, or Asia for that matter. I am really excited and am preparing for the trip. I just wanted to start a base of where I've been, so here is the map: [View Full Entry]
