Well, the clock is ticking...pretty soon I'm off to Logan. Somehow I've managed to cram my entire life into one backpacking backpack, a carry-on suitcase, and a backpack. I don't know if this image is working out what, but I currently feel like vomiting and need to finish clearing out my room. I'll figure it out once I'm settled across the pond. Tata for now! Next update will be from Spain! [View Full Entry]

For the first time in my young adult life I've not left the United States in a year. I still mark the years more by the school calendar, rather than the Gregorian, since school tends to align my compass and makes me feel like a kid. Regardless, it has been a year of remaining stateside, which is significant considering the wanderlust of years past. Having been to some places, I sometimes felt "guilty" to be so privileged to get up and go to another country, places where most host nationals are without the reciprocal ability to visit my country (one that [View Full Entry]

I tried to update right before leaving Peru but the website went down, so I'll just recap my last week there. I flew to Lima with no problems on Monday, dropped by the ministry to tie up some loose ends and headed to Mira Flores. I met Conrad and Alli there, and we bussed out to Ica that night. It was a long bus ride with some really weird movies showing, but eventually we made it and took a taxi to Wacachina. We stayed at La Casa de Arena Dos, the house of sand two. It was nothing great, but it [View Full Entry]

I have arrived!!! I got here on Thursday Night, it was about a 5 hour plane flight. Not all that interesting. I was greeted by my adorable cousins Ezra and Cyrus and my wonderful host, also my cousin Polly. We had a fantastic time!!! I got to see Boston for the first time and ride the subway for the first time also aka the T here. The city is beautiful and big! It was a drizzlyu rainy day but surprisingly it was still hot and none of us needed jackets. We visited the Harvard Campus, and the Natural History Museum there. [View Full Entry]

In Boston ist alles Revolution. In Gedanken zumindest.

So we've had a couple of weekends off now and I thought I'd fill you guys in on all the fun things we've been doing outside of camp! So the first weekend we went to 'Downtown Plymouth' and saw all the sights there. There's this place called Plymouth Rock where supposedly the first Pilgrims landed. It's a rock about the size of a classroom table shaped like an over sized pebble with a date on it... i think it might be 1625 I'm not sure... It's not as exciting as you might think. They also have a bunch of pilgrim style [View Full Entry]

Thursday , July 9 2009 - The Tall Ships were in Boston for the weekend so Maya and I took the blue line into town for a walk around the harbor. There are 45 tall ships in town for this event spread out from one side of the harbor to the other. Unfortunately we were limited for time because we had to be back home early to celebrate Max's birthday party. So with the time restraints the only boats we got to see were those situated from the aquarium to the fish pier. Fortunately it was a clear dry day for [View Full Entry]
