Unfortunately my trip is coming to an end :(
After a 6 day stopover in Germany, I boarded the plane to Boston on March 27.
It took me about 2 hours to get past all the immigration and security controls and I was eventually greeted by Chris and Caleb who were so kind to pick me up from the airport.
Once I dropped my bags at Chris’s place we went to a couple of bars where I met most of my friends from studying at Bond.
I spent most of the next day fighting the jetlag (and the hangover haha). In the afternoon Chris, Caleb and I left for Stratton/Vermont, which was about a 3 hours drive away, to go skiing the following day. Stratton recently got a lot of snow so the skiing was really awesome. Even though, compared to European standards, Stratton’s mountain was just a bump, it had some really nice tracks.
We went back to Boston the same evening as Chris had a lot of work to do. Doug, another buddy from Australia, drove up to Boston that night so we had to hit the bars again :P
Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day
and I’ve spent most of it walking around Boston, including some shopping on Newbury Street. Later on I met up with Claire and Mike and we went to a friend of theirs for dinner.
Monday (March 31) was pretty uneventful, mostly due to the crappy weather. I reckon I only left the apartment to go out for lunch, other than that I was happy to watch TV and some DVDs all day :)
On Tuesday I met up with Amy, a friend whom I’ve met travelling in Ecuador, for some lunch in Cambridge. We spent the afternoon strolling around Harvard Sq.
The next day I took the Sam Adams brewery tour together with Claire. I really enjoyed the free beer afterwards and I even found out the reason why it tasted so good: it turned out that they import their hops from Bavaria :P
After the tour we went for a long walk around the North end, Faneuil Hall and Fenway Park. In the evening we had some forties over at Claire’s place and had a fantastic time watching an incredibly bad movie (Solarbabies - a true classic haha).
On Thursday (April 3rd) I eventually left Boston, taking
the cheap ass Chinatown bus to NYC, where I’m having a blast right now!
