We woke up to the sound of rain this morning. Shelley prepared some coffee and tea for us (I’m still enjoying the “Chock full o’ Nuts” I bought in Middleborough that first day. Time now to fix up some breakfast and review the maps. Maybe walk over and grab a shower. The weather was really unsuitable for anything today except for a fine day to ‘stay in’. Other than the odd walk to the little store here for some change for the shower, and to do some laundry. I crawled up into the crawl space above the driver’s area and took a nap (two hours!) and Shelley ‘n Maggie slept on the bed and watched Simpsons! The Harpswells Another day of sleeping in a bit. Tarragon enjoyed the extra attention as we lounged in bed. He has gotten in the habit that once we get up, he hides under the bed, afraid he is about to be put in the travel case. We purposely did not have anything else but coffee for breakfast as we know lunch was going to be quite filling. Our first stop of the day was Portland Architectural Salvage. A four-story building full of eclectic items ranging from antique furniture to hard-to-find hardware pieces. We were primarily here to see if we could find an entry way piece for our apartment. After a good night’s sleep, we started the day with our Covid $5 continental breakfast. Bagel, cream cheese, yogurt and coffee. The coffee is self-serve in the pantry down the hall and unfortunately Starbucks, and not the strong stuff at that. To get the breakfast you needed to go to the lobby and pick it up from the restaurant. The bagel was just a bagel, not even sliced, but it was $5 and convenient. Tarragon got his breakfast and some love and we took our time getting ready. No big plans for the day just lunch, some spa time for me, and dinner. A pretty laid-back day. April 20, 2021. This blog entry is being written months after our Fall 2020 New England Trip. It was our first vacation amid Covid and quite the experience, some good some bad. I was also in recovery from retina detachment surgery so was pretty uncomfortable most of the trip. Of course, it is not the vacation we had planned. We had previously rescheduled our Ireland/Scotland Trip to be taken at this time. However, Covid was still in full swing and travel restrictions fully in place. We rescheduled again for May 2021 (needless to say that isn’t happening either and it is now scheduled for May 2022) In this blog I will just be going over some of the highlights.
