Advisory: please take care in reading trail maps and trail markers if and when you ever visit Monhegan Island. Otherwise you just might end up lost, and on an island where the year round population is only 75, there aren't a lot of places to stop and ask for directions to get back to your ferry on time. On the other hand, if you don't mind the risk (or if you have no choice), it may just be a blessing in disguise.
