Our next stop was Patterson Louisiana to visit Dr. Walt and Governor Pam. Not only are they a charming couple and a delight to know but they live in a house that was built in 1850 that sports the distinction of being the place where the last Confederate Force surrendered after the Civil War ended. This place was full of history which I enjoy. It is built to face the old Spanish Trail. Imagine the original owners sitting on the broad porch of the house watching settlers, traders and explorers moving down the trail towards the Spanish New World Empire.
