G'Day USA - Noah's American Adventure Pt 2

Chapter 3. Surprise - The Big Easy - New Orleans

As I mentioned in our last blog we had an early start 5am to be exact! Having packed the car and said our goodbyes the night before we snuck out of the house like little mice. We drove back to the airport and boarded the first of 2 flights headed for New Orleans. Although the plane was full Noah traveled well to Dallas, Texas. You would not believe how big the Airport in Dallas was, we had to catch a train to get to the other end of the terminal! Making it just in time to catch our next flight. Noah slept the entire flight to the Big Easy. Noah dramas with the hire car this time either!

Once we worked out driving on the wrong side of the road again we had a short drive into town and to the Hotel. By the time we checked in we knew Robert’s training session wouldn’t be far off finishing so we headed off again to the Campus. After a quick look around we ventured very cautiously to the gym. But they were still training and Noah was ready for dinner, so we went off to keep him quiet and fill his belly and came back later. While we were wondering back to the gym we bumped into a few of Robert’s friends who noticed our Aussie accents and started chatting. The girls were in love with Noah in his little Wolfpack uniform (a miniature of Robert’s basketball uniform) and even better we got 2 offers of babysitters (not that Noah would go with them … he has been sooooo clingy since we left home).

By the time we got back to the gym Robert and the team had finished training and were getting changed. Once the Assistant coach had checked to make sure everyone was decent he opened the door to the change room for us. As you can see in the video we sent Noah in first and Robert got the shock of his life!!!!!!!!! Afterwards Robert said he saw me first and it didn’t really register but then when he saw Noah it all clicked and he realised what was happening … he was surprised again!

Because it was so late we went back to Robert’s dorm room (after meeting yet another girl friend who has been obsessed with Noah since she saw a picture of him on Robert’s computer) we went out for Turkish for dinner. Yummmm yes it was great!!!!! As you can probably tell from the pics we enjoyed it a lot!!!!

By then everyone was ready for bed so we dropped Robert back at school and we headed back to the Greenhouse. Jessie and Frank had set up Noah’s travel cot (which they bought for us at no charge because “Y’all were such great guests last time”). It took a while to settle Noah down in the travel cot but we eventually succeeded and went to bed ourselves cause we had a BIG drive ahead tomorrow.
