Well folks, it looks like we're coming home. After hanging out in Longmont for 5 unprecendented nights (and getting to see snow!), we decided to end the trip and return. Winter is closing in on the high country and our plans to visit relatives in Nebraska didn't pan out. Granted, we could have visited the World's Largest Ball of Twine or the World's largest Prairie Dog, but the Barbed Wire Museum was closed for the season. So why wait? We've had a great trip and have accomplished what we set out to do; I think we're ready to come back. Plus Joe and Diane completely spoiled us with drinks, warm beds and chili. Who wants to camp? We expect to be back in Ktown on Wednesday or Thursday of this week, basically a week early. Probably Thursday as John was in a bit of a panic at our return. What's he been doing, I wonder? If all goes well we should be available for happy hour this Friday, hint, hint. Thanks to everyone for reading and commenting--it's been a lot of fun. Having participation has made the trip even better. We expect the next person traveling to blog for the group.
I want my turn to make sarcastic comments! Don't forget to vote for your favorite hoodoo. I think we currently have Heart of Stone, Robbie the Robot, and Stand With Fist tied with 2 votes each, and Frank Lloyd Flintstone with 1.5, though I need Jack and/or Deb to clarify their vote--the chocolate cliff is not a hoodoo so you can't vote for it. I'm thinking of having a drawing at the Halloween Party and the winner will get the favorite hoodoo as a limited-edition collector's print, or something. So Vote!
PS the movie was Into The Wild--very good and also appropriate after our sojourn in nature. Would have been a great Movie Night movie (is there still Movie Night?).
PSS we are planning to complete our 300 miles by hiking in the Smokies next weekend, so anyone interested in joining us is welcome. Will be 10 miles. Somehow it seems appropriate. We'll try to schedule around football, if there is any. I seem to recall that it's a big deal around there.

Here we are in Topeka, Kansas. Heading home. Our last blog will include highlights, favorites, stats, and never before seen pics.

I was wavering between Stand With Fist and Frank Lloyd Flintstone; so at the 11th hour, I'm going with Stand With Fist.
Have safe travels home....what a great trip!!!
Awwww! So glad to hear that you guys had an awesome time. We absolutely cannot wait to see you both at Christmas and do some hiking and eat weird food that only belongs on the trail. :)
hello, I'm voting for Stands with Fist-- can't believe you're on your way back! Karen
I wondered if you got to see snow. One of the women here at the conference came from Colorado on Sunday and mentioned that there was snow. Glad you'll be home soon. I hope to be home Thursday evening and hope to see you for happy hour on Friday!
What if you cant come to the party, like what if you live out of town or something and cant be there, even if you want to.....dont shut us out of the prize contest just because we're far away!!!!!!!!!
