What do you REALLY NEED for a 6-week trip?

(This list is to remind ME of how to cut 20 lbs. out of my luggage!)

<em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Remember, you must deal with the following weather conditions:

• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Cold (below 60 degrees)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Cool (60-70)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">OK (70-85)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Hot (85-90)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Hot Hot (90-100)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Hot Hot Hot (above 100)
• <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Rain (snow?)

Shoes:

• Great walking shoes (athletic) and 2 pairs of socks
• Sandal or flat airy walking shoe (for variety/foot relief)
• Water shoes (many seashores are rocky)

Clothing Women:

• 1 long pants or capris
• 1 short cool skirt
• 1 (black) linen dress (hot evenings)
• 3 shirts (one long sleeved)
• 1-2 shawl/scarves (warmth, shade, cover shoulders for churches, sit on beach, towel)
• swim suit
• 3 sets underwear and one pair leggings (added warmth)
• shorts and t-shirt to sleep in (communal bathrooms, etc.)
• jacket set (inner fleece liner and outside rainproof)

Clothing Men:

• 1 long pants
• 2 shorts/swimming suits (or zip-off hiking pants)
• 1 nice shirt for evening dinners
• 3 shirts
• 3 sets underwear (long silk underwear if cold conditions)
• t-shirt/etc. for sleeping
• jacket set (inner fleece liner and outside rainproof)

I always bring a “pharmacy” but I would pare it down to emergency items… every town has a pharmacy:

• Bandaids for foot blisters
• Antibotic cream
• Aspirin, etc.
• Immodium
• Peptobismal

Regular cosmetics: personal medications, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo, razor, sunscreen, nail file, little packages of soap, scissors, etc.

Other:

• SUN HAT and sunscreen
• Chargers and converters for all electronics such as laptops, cell phones, ipads, kindles, cameras, etc.
• Camera and extra memory cards
• Reading material including travel books and maps
• Laundry: clothes pins and line, tide packets, etc. (wash at night and hang dry)
• Deflatable water bottle

<em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">You can buy anything else you need or want!!!
