BAILEYBAILEY SAYS GOOD BYE TO ALL HIS FRIENDS IN THE COONS BACK YARD. HE WILL MISS THE TOAD AND SQUIRRELS.
Hi All,
After we left Joliet, IL on Friday morning 6/26, we drove south to Indianapolis, Indiana to visit our friends, Ron, Kimberley & Taylor Srafin.
We drove through the country roads just East of Indy and arrived around 4 pm. They live in the middle of a corn field, literally. It is a nice little subdivision, very neighborly and quiet. We parked in their drive way and hooked up to their electicity.
Once again we were treated like royalty. We have the best friends EVER!! It was so good to see my sista friend, Kimberley. It has been too long.
Allen golfed on Saturday while Ronnie mowed the lawn ( they do a lot of that in this part of the country!) and Kimberley and I took Taylor and his buddy, Jeffrey to the local swimming pool. It was really nice out so we got some sun, while the boys swam. The pool was large, with fun slides and a diving board. I was tempted to go down the slide, but I didn't. It was fun to hang and talk to Kim. Strangest thing, it doesn't get dark there until almost 10:00. That day lite savings time thing. So,
we ate dinner quite late, but the steaks were perfect Ronnie!!!
Sunday we packed a lunch and went to southern Indiana to a place called Lake Santee. It is a very beautiful lake ( man made ) with lovely homes along the shores. Ron and Kim have a boat they keep there along with a great piece of property they hope to build a home on someday. We all have those somedays!!! We just relaxed, took a boat ride, and enjoyed the sun. Bailey had a great time on the boat, not to mention the huge yard he had to run around in. He loves chasing Toads. There were plenty at Lisa and Lary's, also Kim and Ron's house. Must be a upper midwest thing. When we returned from the lake we had the best ribs we have had in a long time. Slow cooked and falling off the bone. Great job Ronnie!! We have been fed so well on this trip.
So much fun for 2 days, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We love you guys and we appreciate the hospitality. Please do not send electric bill! LOL!!!
While we were visiting Ron and Kim, we
MORE AREN'T THEY HANDSOME YOUNG MEN?
decided, due to Chrystal's condition ( loss of mucus plug and lite contractions), we had best move a bit faster to get to Long Island. We cancelled our stay in Ohio, and came straight to Ithica, New York. We are now in the state of New York about 6 hours from Long Island. We drove through Ohio, a small part of northwest Pennsylvania along Lake Erie, and into Western N.Y. The Finger Lake area. It is so beautiful here, but I will write about that after our visit here. In the mean time, enjoy the pictures from Indy.
Till then...........

You've been in our territory for a while. I grew up in a suburb of Chicago (Calumet City and Lansing) and northern Indiana is where I was born, had my first job, etc (Hammond). David grew up outside of Indianapolis in a little town called North Salem near Danville. Northern Indiana is SOOOOO FLAT, boring to drive through (always is for me at least) after being away from that area and being in hills and beautiful scenery.
What a wonderful trip you are having.
Looks like Chrystal is getting close. I'm sure she is anxious to get this pregnancy over with. Can't wait to hear.
