Woke up to rain and we happy we still had the car. Andrew did his first mistake and tried to turn left into the left lane, but he did correct before we got into too much trouble!! Headed straight to the United Centre, the home of the Chicago Bulls to see a tribute to Michael Jordon. Dodgiest suburb ever and he stadium was just a concrete building. We both expected a lot more. Only ran in and out as when we were parking the car these dodgy blokes asked about our car and said they would look after it for us. We thought we get back to it and the hub caps and everything they could take would be gone. But all was good.
We haven’t found much to do in Chicago and because it was raining didn’t want to walk around a lot. Headed to Soldier Field (football) and the Museums, Aquarium and Planetarium, but didn’t head in. Went down to Lincoln Park and nothing much there either, so decided to take the car back to the airport and train it back into town find a good pub to settle in.
We found ESN Zone, Andrew’s favourite place
ever. There were about 12 tv’s all with different sport and the Chicago Cubs on the big screen playing Minnesota. Had a few beers and watched the first half.
After walking the streets for a while decided to grab a few more beers, a pizza and head back to the hotel for a quiet night before flying out to San Francisco tomorrow. Fingers crossed for better Planes... but since it is Thanksgiving weekend it will be bedlam and you never know what adventure we could be put on.
