Hello all. No pics yet. Here I am at a couple who are desert friends of Dad's who have opened their home and hearts to us and they're dialing up slow. SO.... a simple trip-to-date summary. Made it out of Chambana about a day late (after the Taco Bell incident) and headed straight west on I72 and US 36 through IL/MO/KS. US 36 is one straight, easy, great road across MO. Past Hannibal, Flora, MO (Twains Birthplace) and on over the Pony Express, Oregon, California and Mormon Highways (YEP 4fer1!). The van is driving very easy and getting GOOD mileage (~13 average). First two nights I did the tent. One night near Mankato, KS was at THE BUGGIEST and THE LOUDEST campsite ever. And we thought the wildlife was bears and bunnies... NOPE... your favorite country
