I'm up to about 2,600 miles, now.
This was a good run at 463 miles. The ride out of Yellowstone to the west was typical Yellowstone, with lodge pole pines and mountains all around. Route 20 through Montana and down to Rexburg, Idaho, gradually turned into farmland. No picture oppurtunities, yet, as this is all old hat by now.
At Rexburg I took Rt 33 west. It gradually changed to scrub brush and then prairie until I hooked up with rt 93 in Arco. 93 is long valley between the lost River Range and the Pioneer mountains. there is nothing here I havent already shown you. It seems that after tooting around in the west for a couple of weeks, I keep seem to keep seeing the same old beautiful scenes. You've seen them, too, so I didn't stop for more pics.
Rt 93 joins Rt 75 near Challis, ID, another farm town. I followed 75 down to the sawtooth National Recreation Area and then got 0n Rt 21. I took a couple of pics near Lowman, ID, and then scooted on into Boise for a much needed rest. There were terrific thunder storms as I approached the
Sawtooth range, and there was a brief clearing long enough for me to see the saw-toothieness, but it was pouring, so, alas, no pics. As usual, try Googling the Sawtooth Range to see what it looks like.
By the time I got to Boise, the alpine forest of Ponderosa pine had given way to more golden velvet mountains like I 5 in California. Yawn.
I had some more clips of riding through a nice river canyon, but the video upload was buggy, other clips were corrupted befoe I could transfer them and I give up (for now). At this point I've seen every type of mountain meadow, canyon, alpine forest, mountain river, lake, plateau, desert, prairie, and on and on and so have you. they are getting redundant.
Tomorrow, Hell's Canyon.
