We were not looking forward to the journey to LA as it looked like we would have to sit in Maui airport for 6 hours and then in Honolulu airport for another 5. As we had already been to Oahu (on honeymoon almost 4 years to the day) we had decided to spend our week on Maui instead. Made record time to SEA-TAC from Sammamish. Said 'Goodbye' to Herv and Karla, and we're off! We arrived in Honolulu on Fri. 09/23 to find an OXY welcoming party @ the airport. We quickly checked into the Sheraton Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki, and met up with some old friends from Occidental to celebrate our reunion, and Jason and Jenel's wedding. September 26th Monday Pack things into the car, there's loads of room in this boot. We have been at the beach for 10 days and I could stay another 10. It is beautiful and the pace of life, slow to stop, is refreshing. Arrive outside our Waikiki hotel and Steve chucks us out and goes to take car back. Two bell boys immeadiately jump to putting the bags on a posh trolley. What a difference from the last few days. September 17th part 2 Oahu, Hawaii Car hire firm at Honolulu is off airport and once there we are told hire does not include CDW, Collision Damage Waiver, despite what the web site says. We are not pleased and in a fit of pique we refuse CDW. This means if we crash the excess is the value of the car. Steve will have to drive carefully. Da va skolen i gang å vi e i full action. Tida flyge her nede, uka e snart omme å e har ikke råkke å våkna enda. Dagane går til fotball å avslapping føles det som. Fotball treningene e bak fjelle, så går alt så seint her. Alle på øya har så god tid, så det e jo ikke akkurat det en sunnmøring har tid t da.
