North Shore

So Jenny (german girl from my hostel room) and I got up early to catch the bus to the North shore. Grabbed some breakfast at the ABC store and then we were on our way. Our first stop was Kualoa ranch where a ton of movies have been filmed. We bought our tickets to do the movie ranch tour. 2 american girls and us were all that was on the tour so it was good. We got to see a bunker that gets used in the tv show Lost and was used in Pearl Harbour. We stopped at a ton of other locations in the ranch used in movies such as:

Jurassic Park
Windtalkers
Godzilla
Pearl Harbour
You me and Dupree
Mighty Joe Young
50 First Dates
Blue Hawaii
and Lost

We actually got to stand in the footprint of Godzilla which was cool. There was also a set of a traditional Hawaiian village where Elvis did some filming. Back at the end of the tour they have a bunch of animals you can pet. There was a HUGE pub making all kinds of crazy noises while he was sleeping. Caught another bus up to Waimea Bay area but we didn't stay there for long. We ended up going to Haleiwa and I went in to the ocean to cool down and is was sooooo nice! We stopped for a shave ice too. I tried Blue raspberry and coconut with ice cream and it was yummy. Ended up having to wait a whole hour for the bus back to Waikiki. We stopped at the Ala Moana shopping center and grabbed some dinner from the biggest food court i've ever seen haha. The mall is all open air which was really cool.

Back to the hostel to relax and gear up for tomorrow!!!

Looks like you had a great first tour and got a good overview of the island. We were a bit worried when we saw the picture where you are standing in front of the LOST sign!! Glad you are enjoying your trip. We look forward to all of your postings. Dad and Mom
