In 48 hours, I'll be onboard the plane to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where the true journey will begin. But before crossing that ocean, a few days of living the simple life to recharge my batteries in southern Florida is in order. I'm also having great fun clicking my new new Canon camera at everything. After tennis yesterday, NitaJean and I loaded up the Mercedes and drove to Hutchinson Island (across the bridge from Jensen Beach) for some sand and sandwiches. No sooner had we unloaded and dug our toes in to hit the beach, the lifeguard raised the red flag [View Full Entry]

Picnic: Rain or Shine
Ladies in Waiting
Aaahhh, The Beach!

Got a call from the Captain, asking me to meet the boat in Charleston, SC on the 31st of May. Of course! Pack some "going out" clothes, and a computer. I have no idea what to expect, what type of crew is already on board, where I'll be sleeping, or what I'll see. This is a good start into the yachting industry. As a temporary deckie, I have a lot to learn this summer. We are planning on heading north to NYC and Long Island, around Halifax, Nova Scotia, into the St. Lawerence Seaway, and through a series of locks. The [View Full Entry]

La traversée du Nassau Sound (tongue of the ocean) se fait à voiles au grand largue. Tout un orage
On a y goûter
St Augustine, Floride

To celebrate our 35th anniversary, we took a three day detour to Florida on our way home from ABWE Meetings in PA. From a contact through www.sermonaudio.com/wftw we were able to stay in a Resort Home in West Palm Beach. Here are a few photos of our short vacation. [View Full Entry]

This image captures it all. Driving up from Florida (where this dude's left foot is) to New York (where his hand is) climbing over to the UK. This picture is perfect!
With my Degree in hand (YAY!) I'm off to travel the world! This particular post is my dedication to Florida. If this seems too much like a "myspace" blog for which I'm not to fond of, then please, feel free to skip to the next one. However, if you have been part of my life here in Florida, you might want to read this. Now that I'm leaving, I can spill all your dirty secrets, and you won't know where I live! HAHA! (unless your name is Dorraine, and you don't have dirty secrets-you're just dirty!) What I love about Florida [View Full Entry]

I spent three more days with Eileen and Steve not doing too much of anything. I would get up in the morning, sit by the pool and then hang out in the evenings with them. Eileen and I managed to do all of the things we used to do together back in the day - eat lobsters, play games at a bar, watch movies (actually, she would watch and I would fall asleep), gamble, get too much sun and hang out solving each other’s problems. It was a very nice time and a great break - very relaxing and just what [View Full Entry]

In West Palm Beach... only 300,000.00 to join
I took the train on Easter Sunday to West Palm Beach. It’s about an hour train ride. I was going to met some friends from Grand Turk in West Palm and have some supper with them. So I started my way to Joe and Loretta’s house. Joe has this world class bar in his back yard. It’s my second time being there. Well I got there around 4 Pm on Sunday. Joe had some Ice cold beers ready for me right as I get there. We sat in his bar and few beers before we started the BBQ and cooked [View Full Entry]

I told Steph today that if my tax return is what I estimated it at (and it is usually correct to the penny), then I will pay for her to go to London/Paris with me. I don't want to go alone. That would suck a lot. Going to Paris will be akin to going to Mecca. I know that sounds so stupid but really. That is why I'm awake now because I just get sooo excited, rediculously excited and I feel within myself like I MUST go there. There is something inside, burning my soul, that I need to go [View Full Entry]

Went to West Palm Beach over the weekend and had a great (drunkin) time. Friday we just laid around and drank then met friends for dinner. Went to the land of the $14.00 martinin and the $9.00 Margarita (OUCH!) the Oakwood grill restaurant was nice but not overly speacial for be "acclaimed." Saturday was a beach day and then a wedding during the evening into the we hours of the morning (Thank God for the red room at Gatsby's http://www.gatsbysfl.com/photos.html) Sunday was a lazy day and then back to the grind on Monday. Best part of the trip was the upgrade [View Full Entry]
