Left the anchor at dawn. Ran with the two boats that I rafted up with in Vero Beach. Nice people. They ran at different speeds than my boat is used to and I think it vibrated a bracket off of my heat exchanger. This caused a leak. I made it to the anchorage which is in a place called Lantanna just south of West Palm Beach. Left Vero Beach at 7:30. I can see why they call it Velcro Beach. It's hard to leave. Achored about 2:00 us at a place called Peck Lake just north of West Palm Beach. It is secluded but you can dinghy over to little beach and grove of trees and walk through a path and lay on the beach at the Ocean. I may stay here a few days ----- or not. Currently in-between travels, on an extended visit to the Palm Beaches. Interesting the difference in the attitudes between those in California and those in Florida. In California, people get it. They want to save a great deal of money and misery so they come in right away for healing sessions, first, and go for it. Or they are overall fine and just want to rest on the table, or go to the ocean, or to dissolve oodles of stress, and free-up the fluid, core system around the spine. Got a call from the Captain, asking me to meet the boat in Charleston, SC on the 31st of May. Of course! Pack some "going out" clothes, and a computer. I have no idea what to expect, what type of crew is already on board, where I'll be sleeping, or what I'll see. This is a good start into the yachting industry. As a temporary deckie, I have a lot to learn this summer. LA TRAVERSEE Aujourd’hui le 22 mars 2008. La fenêtre - météo s’annonce bien : beau temps, vents sud-est 10 à 15 nœuds et les vagues 2 à 3 pieds. Nous avons un plan A et un plan B c’est-à-dire: Plan A : Nassau jusqu’à West Palm Beach, Floride Plan B : Nassau - Bimini, Bahamas pour un arrêt au cas où la météo se dégraderait. I spent three more days with Eileen and Steve not doing too much of anything. I would get up in the morning, sit by the pool and then hang out in the evenings with them. Eileen and I managed to do all of the things we used to do together back in the day - eat lobsters, play games at a bar, watch movies (actually, she would watch and I would fall asleep), gamble, get too much sun and hang out solving each other’s problems. I took the train on Easter Sunday to West Palm Beach. It’s about an hour train ride. I was going to met some friends from Grand Turk in West Palm and have some supper with them. So I started my way to Joe and Loretta’s house. Joe has this world class bar in his back yard. It’s my second time being there. Well I got there around 4 Pm on Sunday. Went to West Palm Beach over the weekend and had a great (drunkin) time. Friday we just laid around and drank then met friends for dinner. Went to the land of the $14.00 martinin and the $9.00 Margarita (OUCH!) the Oakwood grill restaurant was nice but not overly speacial for be "acclaimed." Saturday was a beach day and then a wedding during the evening into the we hours of the morning (Thank God for the red room at Gatsby's http://www.gatsbysfl.com/photos.html) Sunday was a lazy day and then back to the grind on Monday.
