“Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe”……Anatole France

January 20, 2010, Wednesday, Lake Kissimmee to Sebastian, where we met friends at “Squid Lips Restaurant”. Tom and Judy were our “Partners in Crime” (on and off) as we RV’ed in Europe, the Baltic Countries and Russia! So we had fun re-living these adventures, and had a lovely visit.

January 21, 2010, Thursday, Ft. Pierce to Vero Beach, FL
My brother/sister-in-law’s home is on the Inter-costal waterway, so we enjoyed a spin in his boat. It was a wonderfully sunny day. However, due to the recent cold temps in FL, it has caused a “Fish Kill”. There were lots of dead fish, even a manatee. Hopefully the decomposed fish will sink and nature will do its “clean-up” job. Meanwhile it is an “odoriferous” experience.
Vero Beach is a great place for a walk and to shop, just a beautiful beach.

January 22, 2010, Friday, Vero Beach, FL
The day began foggy and then showers. So we spent time in the book store before going to the movie, “It’s Complicated”…amusing, funny and dumb.
The sun returned late day so we managed a walk down to the beach. Always great to spend time with family!

January 23, 2010, Saturday, Vero Beach to Wildwood, FL
A stop at The Villages, included a tour of various houses available. This is the largest planned, over 55, community in the US. It is 25 miles square, and has many golf courses, stores, pools, community centers, etc. People travel by golf-cart everywhere? Interesting, but Florida is too hot in summer and there are many rules here!
A private campground in Wildwood was pricey and not great, oh well. We really enjoy the State Parks.

The Vllages
As a whole the villages is uberconservative. That is where Sarah Palin made her first solo public campaign appearance. We have good friends who live there. We found it a bit scary. d
