Tampa is a great location - we had so much fun ALL in one day!
Here's the itinerary:
Meet George and Zita in Ybor City near the Columbia Restaurant.
George takes us to Plant City where we eat strawberry shortcakes and drool over the flowering plants.
Back to Ybor City - Tampa's Latin Quarter - where we make late lunch reservations at the famed Columbia and take a stroll during which our "men" are lured into a Cigar Maker's Den and emerge with stoogies - lighted stogies! We hopped on the Ybor City trolley and took a round trip - $2.50 for seniors! Back in Ybor, we hunted vintage stuff in a few consignment shops - a hat for Wes, a scarf for Zita; and controlled restraint from me and George. Great, great lunch in the beautiful, art-filled Columbia Restaurant (why no pictures of the wonderful interior with great Hispanic art and incredible chandelier I can't explain) afterwhich Zita and George departed for the Airport and Wes and I headed so see our dear friends (Mitzie and Jack) on their boat in Palm Harbor. Light supper at Ozonal Blue near their marina and back to Fort De Soto to get ready

The prices on lush and beautiful ferns and orchids were amazing. Really wish we had a way to get them home.

This is Tampa's Latin Quarter. It is where the Cuban cigar makers immigrated to over 100 years ago. Very colorful and fun.

Love the festival lights strung across the street. Would like to see this at night.
