There is a lot of wildlife here in Florida. I guess that's my favorite part as an animal lover. The Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science is nothing like a museum really. It's in the middle of forest where they take in injured or orphaned wildlife. Some of which are deer, alligators, bobcats, butterflies, foxes, wolves, and many more. It deserves a better name than 'zoo' as the animals are in their own natural environment, with trees to climb in and bushes to hide in. Dave and I both agreed that the albino squirrels were the coolest. He'd seen them before but it was a definite first time for me. They were all over the place, even teasing the panthers.
Yesterday we went 'alligator hunting' in an area called St. Marks Wildlife Refuge. It's an area where one has to pay to get in, but nobody was in the toll booth so we didn't have to pay. We had to be careful driving there because animals appear on the roads all the time. I saved two turtles that were crossing the road. They weren't as evil as the soft shell turtle in Viera which Dave saved because instead of trying

to bite they hid inside their shell. The road led all the way to a lighthouse which wasn't open. The area was really beautiful. On one side it was sweet swamp water for the alligators and on the other side of the road was the ocean where the crabs were trying to get to my feet in the sand. The wind was refreshing in all the heat. It's been 36 celsius here. My shoulders are burnt real bad from being in the swimming pool for about twenty minutes. I thought I'd be safe for such short time without sunscreen but I guess I was wrong. In the end of the trip we ran into an alligator in the water who was sneaking up on a drunken man (Dave calls him a redneck hahaha) who started telling his sad life story about how his whole family died and stuff. The alligator disappeared as soon as we got out of the car so I guess I still haven't really seen one for real. I even stood at the side of the water trying to lure it out without luck.
