I did something crazy yesterday. I ate alligator for lunch as an appetizer! We were out at Cocoa Beach with Dave's parents and Shannon, a friend of the family, to eat lunch and take a quick dip into the ocean. The alligator tasted just like chicken, but nobody besides Dave's mom and I liked it. I felt really proud of course! The waves in the ocean were slightly bigger than they are in Holland so we had good fun getting all wet and crazy in there. When the sun was out the sand got crazy hot, so we didn't hang out on the sand too much. Of course we both got slightly sunburnt. On our way home we almost ran over a turtle that was trying to cross the highway...poor thing. Dave pulled over and rescued it by bringing it back to the water. I wanted to take a close look at it, but then it almost bit my hand off! haha
In the evening Jena and Jennifer had a dance recital which we were invited to come to. Jena had two performances, one was tap dancing and the other was ballet. Jennifer did a Spanish dance. They both did really
good and it looked awesome up there on stage. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to video tape or take pictures. To finish off the evening we all took drive through taco bell home with us.
Today we drove 5 hours to Tallahassee, where Dave lives. Most of you know that I get car sick real fast. Strangely enough I haven't been car sick at all. Not since I've been here in the States. We saw lots of dead animals along the side of the road (road kill) including a fox, armadillos, opossums, a raccoon, birds, turtles and a turkey. Very sad. We also saw live squirrels though, so that kind of made up for it. The squirrels were hanging out at some rest stop area eating nuts and stuff.
Tomorrow we're going to look for jobs...jolly good fun!
