Really love this - but it took a little getting used to!
We are now on Pine Island, but there were some things about Sanibel Island that I hadn't mentioned. Periwinkle Park was a perfect spot for the RV for a week. Two ponds with tons of birds & ducks, an aviary with resident docent, Libby the Bird Lady, nice neighbors (for full season reservations people wait 10 years to get booked into this very popular park), good off-season availability (the seaon starts at Christmas and continues through April), proximity to beaches, restaurants, galleries, and more! I also forgot to mention that most of the places we go to in Florida have great off-road bike trails. They're mostly flat, scenic, and certainly on Sanibel where traffic can be an issue an efficient way to get to the beach. I've developed bikophobia. Combo of age, weight, and one little fall. I am really trying to find the right bike. Wes and I always enjoyed biking and I want to get back to it.

We will surely return to Sanibel next November - hopefully we'll both be biking these great bike paths.

You needn't be registered at Periwinkle to enjoy the tropical birds. Libby, the bird lady, gives a nice talk and lets you hold birds at 10am every day but Sunday from mid-November - April.

Many, many more attractions and facilities employ some version of Universal Architecture - accomodating ALL people - wide enough, proper grade, other features, so all of us benefit from advocates for independent living type organizations.

Parking is ample at $2/hour, paid through a machine in the center median. Strict parking regulations keep parking available and organized.

We bought this long handled shelling basket last year in Sarasota. It's perfect for scooping along the "trash line" at low tide.

The Antique Shop was so well organized and didn't smell musty! Perfect rainy day activity on Sanibel - We only had great weather so we did this treasure trove quickly!

This type bike is one of my options. But doesn't top the list. I would feel confident, get where Wes and I want to go, take advantage of the great bike paths, but I would feel soooo senior citizen!

Want to "test drive" a bike with a very low cross bar. Girls bike with coaster break option, no exotic "speeds," light weight - prefer made in USA.

We're also looking forward to browsing the galleries in Pine Island, especially in Bokeelia and Matlacha!

This place had wonderful service, food, atmosphere! And the price wasn't bad for Sanibell Island.

Mini Donut Maker, Farmers' Market

where to buy a donut maker?
hi, I am very interested in purchasing a donut maker for our local farmers market in Virginia and I was wondering where you purchased your donut maker? Thanks!

We aren't the vendor
Hi - we were customers; not vendors at the farmers' market in Sanibel, Florida - guess you could google the mini donut maker and/or go to your local restaurant equipment supplier - good luck with this - very popular product at the market
