Everyone has to start somewhere, and in my particular case, home sweet home is Winter Garden, Florida in the United States. While most people may not have heard of this growing city, it rests just outside Orlando which is surely recognizable to the masses for its ample servings of theme parks such as Universal Studios, Walt Disney World and Sea World. We made our way to Orlando, the kids and big kids playground by car (I drove some of the way as Adam's relative used to be a driving instructor! For those of you that do not know I don’t drive (yet!) in the UK) Our hotel was nice, the Quality Inn on International Drive. We crashed for the first night to get some shut eye before going to play all day at Universal Studios and Adventure Island. the green card took me to orlando where i lived and worked up until march... unfortunately the whole time was pretty unpleasant culminating with the engineering company i worked for firing me because i asked for 3 weeks off to get married.... anyway, this officially ends my green card american experience - i'm off to get married and then its back down under! whooohoooo! Hey everyone! It has been a while since my last blog. It was too sad to write as I found ourselves trekking back toward COLD Rhode Island. I mean, who would want to leave sunny and 70's during the winter? :) The cool thing was/is Ape and I are heading BACK to Florida tomorrow, March 19th for another 2 weeks of fun in the sun. Hi Ya'll: First "Thanks to Lena for giving me this website to share our travels with whomever is interested. First of March we headed out and stopped in Florence, SC to visit with daughter Sherri and her husband John. Oh, and our very special SC grandaughter, Sarah. One week later, after a breakdown on the road of the F350 (had road side assistance) we spent a week in Georgia at a campground run by a 90 year old couple. Beautiful and peacful in Screven, Ga. OK, it official! Florida is a paradise!! There I've said it...lol. I am under the age of 65 and I am in love with this state. The beaches Florida posses are mesmerizing. Ok, I admit it - I am addicted to Key West's key lime pie. I don't care if it's The Blond Giraffe's or Jimmy Buffett's....just give me that key lime pie - please. I think about it when I wake up and don't relax until I have a piece. I am sure I dream about it at night. Maybe they put something in it to tempt unsuspecting tourists. We saved the longest for the last day! We were off a full 30 minutes earlier this morning. We had breakfast at the Animal Kingdom with Donald Duck and his friends. It was actually quite fun. Then... off to Expedition Everest... a ride that isn't yet officially open, but absolutely proves that Disney is back on it's game. WOW... what a ride. Ask KJ or I for more details.
