My weekend has consisted of lining Walt's pockets yet again. Lynn had to pay over £300 for 2 days admission into the Disney theme parks and waterparks for her, Becky and Zander. Luckily I paid extra the last time for the no expiry option on my ticket so I didn't have to pay again. A chilly taxi transfer down to Glasgow Airport; the driver picks us up at 5.45am telling us that this will be his second trip to Glasgow airport that morning. The 357,000 miles on his 3 year old Zafira and his sunken face confirm his tale of too many frosty mornings. Safely in the Airport we check in, board and depart with no troubles, drama or excitement. It's true what they told me before we came travelling; you live to your budget. You could probably travel around the world with little more than the shirt on your back and couple hundred quid in the bank. How much you'd get out of this, I don't know. Weekend in Orlando - long week in Holiday On the Saturday (19th) we took the bus to the Blizzard beach water park - some of those slides are scary! We had a great time and were the last out of the park! On the Sunday (20th) we went to Universal Studios - we bought tickets for both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure - great !!! - see the pictures. Hello all and sorry for the delay in communications! So our final stop Florida and a stop characterised by substantial food, drink and more food! Friday: Today I drove up to Orlando where I arrived in record time and promptly got lost on the way to Ryan's house. Only after I passed the gleaming buildings of downtown Orlando and waded through and hour of traffic did I think of phoning my native Orlandan friend. I leave for Romania once again in a little more than 2 days. This trip will be much like our last. We will be doing free medical clinics with the Gypsy (Roma) people of northwest Romania. Or team is much smaller this time; 6 people, but we are ready to do some hard work. We had a near-miss with a near-hurricane in Orlando (tropical storm 'Alberto' - it reached 70mph, a hurricane is 74) , where we our trip to Disney got decidedly rained-off. We made it to Downtown Disney (the free bit) - we ate at Planet Hollywood (extortionate, and terrible service), visited Legoland, where Raj had his impressive Lego sculpture entertainingly ruined by a 4 year old child, and explored the many shops full of Disney related tack. As I mentioned in our last blog, after we spent a few days visiting family and friends up north, we ended our trip to the States with a few days in Orlando. We were there with Dara’s sister, Marcy, and her family.
