I don't know if this the correct term for it, but I found out that Florida has a monsoon season. Yesterday we planned to go to Cocoa Beach, a very popular beach about 20 minutes driving from here, but we never went because the rain kept pouring from the sky like there was no end to it. Nevertheless it stays really warm here, so all the longsleeve shirts can stay in my suitcase. Instead of going to Cocoa Beach we went to three different petstores. I guess I don't need to explain that to anyone because pretty much everyone knows I'm a big animalfreak. We went to see the rats (ofcourse!) in all different sizes. See, here in the States, you can get rats in different sizes...small, medium and large...HOW WEIRD IS THAT?? In the end none of the stores had rats available at the moment but I did cuddle with a lot of other animals.
In the evening Dave and I decided to explore the impeccable neighborhood here, in search of an armadillo or any other wild animal. We started walking and very soon got lost. The whole area is new so all the houses and gardens look very much

alike. It started raining again and soon enough we were wet to the bone. I think we walked around lost and wet for one and a half hour...and then finally we saw an armadillo! It wobbled across our path and started digging in the grass. We ran into 2 rabbits, and touched 5 frogs of 3 different types. They came out to play in the rain haha
Today we gave Cocoa Beach another try eventhough it rained from time to time. We sat in the car at the parkinglot next to the beach in the rain eating some vegetable dip thing untill it stopped raining. We ran out in our swimsuits (which we put on in the car) and went right into the ocean. The sand there is really soft and there aren't a lot of shells sticking out to step on. I thought it was amazing! We were the only ones there... Soon enough though it started raining like crazy again and we raced back into the car with wet swimsuits filled with sand and nastyness. Great!
Still no sign of the backyard alligator...

Photo 9Ivory can't go outside because the alligator might think she's a tasty snack. And there's a lizard out there she will kill and play with...hahaha
