Everglades National Park
We stopped at an alligator farm on the way Got woken up by Sara today telling us we had 10 minutes before we needed to leave. I was a bit confused then realised that I’d set my alarm for 7:00am when that was actually the time we were leaving. Hannah and I packed our stuff and barely got ready before we had to get going, we had a massive day of driving today, another 500 miles. Around lunch time we stopped off at an alligator farm in the everglades. It was pouring rain yet we still walked around the enclosures and got to see some of them being fed. The guide was telling us all about them and as he fed them more and more kept popping their head above the water. We continued around to a seating area where the guy brought out various animals such as a python, baby alligator etc and let us hold them. Hannah had a go holding a massive python and Dave went with the baby alligator. He then performed a quick show with an alligator, demonstrating how well trained they were, I thought it was silly, showing off that you can put your head in its mouth, real smart.
We then had

A quick tour of Everglades National Park on a fan boat lunch, sandwiches again, around picnic tables which were thankfully undercover because it was still raining. After lunch we got to go on an airboat ride through the everglades. We were warned that we’d get wet but it didn’t really bother us because it was pouring anyway. We hopped aboard, Hannah and I sat in the front and as soon as everyone was on, we got going. An airboat was pretty much a flat, square shaped box with seats and it had a massive fan on the back. They were quite noisy and pretty fast as well. The driver stopped in some areas to tell us about the Everglades National Park and there was even a chance for us go get out in the shallow water, no one wanted too. As we sailed around the driver would make sudden sharp turns making the water rush into the boat. If I wasn’t too wet before I was now completely drenched, Hannah, sitting next to me was even worse. During the ride we also had a look out for any animals apart from a few birds we saw another alligator but that was about it. As soon as we returned a few people

The extremly wet and swampy Everglades National Park went to change into some drier clothes before getting back into the van. The airboat was great fun but we were beginning to get miserable being so completely wet.
We continued on our massive drive and entertained ourselves by drawing on people when they fell asleep. Eventually after another crazy drive we made it to the campsite. We weren’t camping tonight but stayed in cabins. Tina, Marcia, Dave, Hannah and I shared one while Amy, Sara, Min, Lucy, Elaine and Ben. Hannah made a gourmet dinner for everyone while some people played cards and rest of us just drank. It was a quiet night though we had a big few days ahead.
