Euro Trip, 2009Please wear your teeshirt. It makes it easier to travel as a big group.
We'll be checking in at the airport at this time tomorrow morning! Here are some last minute details:
This is the day to pack your suitcase. American Airlines allows one carry-on bag, weighing no more than 40lbs. They allow us to check up to 2 suitcases, each weighing no more than 50lbs. As you're packing, please remember that you'll be the one carrying it, sometimes up several flights of stairs!

We are forecast partly to mostly sunny skies, so the weather will be perfect for our travels.
If you have decided to bring electronic devices, Radio Shack has a $10 adaptor that will work in both France and Spain, for your laptop or cell phone. Apparently, those devices do not require a voltage converter. They also have a $45 adaptor/converter that will convert up to 1600 watts of electricity for other appliances.
Remember to bring comfortable shoes. Consider bringing a water bottle, too. Tap water is potable in France and Spain, and you can save some money by filling your own container for the day. Water consumption alleviates jet lag, so plan to fill your bottle once you get through security at the Orlando Airport, also. It's allowed on the plane, but must have been filled on the "secure" side.
Remember to pack any bottles larger than 3oz (100ml) in your suitcase. They will not allow you to bring them through security, including a filled water bottle. Bring any medications (in the original bottle) in your hand-baggage. Think about contact lens needs. Ladies, think about where you'll be in your menstrual cycle over the next 10 days. A first aid kit will always be available, should the need arise. Think about putting a change of clothes in your hand-baggage. Once everyone arrives in Paris, we'll go to the hotel. They'll secure our baggage but we won't get to check in until after dinner. On Wednesay morning, we'll have time to change clothes and freshen up, but not shower.
You are allowed to bring snacks. Our meals are geared towards American students, but remember that European portions are smaller than US portions. Consider bringing some snack foods that you enjoy. Bring a few granola bars, for example, to save money on lunches or have a night-time snack.
Get a good night's sleep tonight because tomorrow will be a long day. We'll try to sleep overnight on the plane. If not, we'll have been awake for 36 hours because we won't get to sleep until Wednesday night, in Paris!
I'll see you at the American Airlines ticket counter at the Orlando Airport tomorrow morning. Please be there by 8:35am, with your passport, wearing your EuroTrip, 2009 tee shirt. (We're a big group of 30 people, so wearing the same shirt makes us visible, therefore safer.)
A demain! (See you tomorrow!)
