Ola from Miami,

WEEK 1 (6th June-13th June)
Got up early Saturday morning dunno how since we got here at like 3.30am. We got ready and went straight for the beach, Its like literally around the corner on ocean drive so say one block from our hostel. So handy..We stared in amazement at the white sand and the turquoise waters....awh bliss! we walked down along the beach in the water and we decided we should go buy towels-rhona didnt have one. I got a travel towel as a present, which is the best little thing ever! We walked up collins avenue...... we are staying on collins and 3rd street...but collins avenue goes right up to like 20th street, and theres all different avenues then in between! why cant we have this system in ireland....its so easy to find everything. the avenues are paralel to each other and the streets are just all the way up. so a block is a street. Colliins has lots of shops and bars along it so we looked in some of the shops and bought a towel and went into a spanish restaurant for some breakfast it was nice enough! Then we went to the beach and laid out in the lovely sand. HEAVEN...........half hour passed and we began to feel a chill.....Hmmm somethings not right, I look up and the sky is black and theres sheets of lightening flashin thru the sky...FUCK!!!!!!!

We got up and ran back to the hostel, we sat in the lobby and thought great were in miami and its bloody thundering & lightening....grrrrr
got talkin to some people in the common room and they said its been like this for 2 weeks, they were having storms. Its hurricane season.... hang on a minute its WOT season???? haha we were not impressed... eventually it cleared up and we went back outside and it was really hot. Later that evenin we got dressed and went down to the lobby where everyone was, they were all drinkin so we decided we'd go out. We were sittin on the couch and some guy comes over and ntroduces himself he was from....wait for it.... IRELAND! woohoo, he was from monaghan barry was his name. He was on his world trip aswel this was the end of it though, then 3 other irish guys came over and joined us...they were from the north. John, will and "sloth" thats what the lads called him LOL. They boys were really sound and we seemed to get on really well with them. we went to downtown miami to a club called space, OMG...it was crazy in there really cool though better than any club in ireland...

Over the next few days we just went to the beach during the day with the irish boys and then go for somethin to eat in the evenings...we went to cinema sunday night to see hangover oh my god brilliant film absolutely loved it, never laughed so much in all my life ohhhh and the box of popcorn we got was almost same size as me...thats america for ya. they dont do anything small!!!!!!
TUESDAY night we went to mangos club it was opnly $5.00 in, but the swedish girls (molly, sara & linn) we met in the hostel couldnt get in cause they were only 20 :( boo hoo... age limit sucks!!! Mangos was a salsa club and wasnt great so we left at around 2am and went to beach, loads of people down there so we just got some drinks and sat on the beach... the girls went in to the ocean and it was really warm... we got back to hostel at round 5am and the cranky bitch in our room wasnt impressed lol.... oh well! its a hostel after all and she was like 50 something, they say in the terms and condtions that its ideally 18-35yr olds and due to noise and shit that they recommend if u are stayin here that u can put up with that...

WEDNESDAY we went to club mansion, best night club ever...it was so cool inside, really fancy... in the VIP area was TI the rapper, which was cool. they were taken pictures of him all night and bringin out bottles of champagne with sparklers and stuff! We also got to dance on the podiums woowoo! And did i mention half way through the night they had a full blown fashion show?? It was unreal, all girls and guys strutting there stuff in underwear and swimwear swiss swoo...hahaha

THURSDAY night we decided we were not goin out trying to save money, so we got drink and drank at the hostel instead because it was barrys last night before going to orlando! And decided we would go and have a beach party... So there was about 20 of us from the hostel down there. We were sitting on the sand and i seen something floating off into the water and i shouted oh my god someones backpack is floating off get it!!!!!! Why am i sucha blonde?? It wasnt a backpack it was a SEATURTLE!!! YES A SEARURTLE.... OMG!! haha it was funny though...apparantely the sea turtles come to south beach and lay there eggs there every year, so along the sand there are loads of places cornered off where there are seaturtle nests.. interesting piece of information!!!!

FRIDAY we didnt do much we had moved dorms so we were just gettin settled in our new room, and gettin to know new roomies lol. which were 1 welsh, 4 english, 3 german, 1 french, 1 ozzie, ALL BOYS!!!!!!!!!!! We have come to the conclusion that me & rhona got thrown into a 12 bed MALE dorm! Oh well at least they dont spend as much time in the shower as the girls in our 8 bed dorm ;-)

SATURDAY MY BIRTHDAY 22 WOO WOO!
we walked like 2.3miles to "office depot" to find my baby laptop, we had been lookin all week and kept gettin ridculous prices for shit laptops... so we eventually got there and the guy showed me 2 notebooks one was 8" and the other 10" but the smaller one was like really cheap only $280 but it was navy&black and that was the only colour which i wasnt to gone on so thought fuck it for an extra $50 i should get the bigger one which is black and silver.... I LOVE IT!!!!! then got home and we got ready to go out so all the boys from our room said they would come with us to space nightclub for my birthday! we got changed and me rhona and nick went to wet willies for dinner and drinks first. Had really nice fajitas and a frozen cocktail and headed back to the hostel, we then all went to space. Most of the hostel went to the club so there was loads of us, molly sara and linn came 2 because this club u only need to be 18 to get in and 21 to drink. Had really good night from wat i remember lol...

WEEK 2 (June 15th- June 22nd)
So this week lots of people we had made friends with had left and it was just rhona nick and me left and aload of new people in different rooms who didnt really wanna make any effort to talk to us! Oh well.
TUESDAY we decided we would go to key west (the most southern tip of florida its meant to be beautiful, so we got up at 6.45am and got ready (nick was going driving down) we left the hostel and went on our way...the signposts over here are AWFUL! SO CONFUSING! and plus the 3 of us are all so use to driving on the left its weird, and there are no roundabouts over here... so we got lost like 3 times within bout 20mins....we got to a part of the motor way where we needed to turn off and it was closed due to an major car accident, few people were killed ... :( so that was the only route, we managed to find a petrol station and got "gas" lol...im gonna be sucha american by the time were done here we also asked for directions!!! Next thing the car wont start, just what we need it was completely dead...we asked some guys to help us and they push it with me and rhona steered it and it started woo, we jumped in and off we went again. about 10 minutes down the road the car cut out again, so on the middle of the motorway me and rhona (in bikini's & shorts) pushed the car....it didnt work. we pulled it into the hard shoulder and waited. Eventually we asked some guy to help us jump start it, it was grand then and we went down to dfind the nearest garage to fix the altenator... and again we cut out in the middle of traffic, at this stage we were like 4 hours on the road but not at all near key west... :( the garage said it would take 3 hours for them to fix it so nick told us to just get a taxi back and he would pay or get bus/train whatever.

we walked down about 3 blocks and found train station YAY!!!! We paid $2 and got the train from like south miami to downtown miami about 8 stops...we got there and said we could do bit of shopping(window shopping that is cause we are poor) lol! All the men were staring at us and calling us over to them and shit like we were like ah hello what the hell??? (you know me now when a dirty ignorant prick tries it on with me) not impresssed....i can be a bit aggressive I KNOW I KNOW!!!! neways, we looked around and we were the only ones in the whole place wearing string top & tiny shorts...i guess we looked like little tourists who were meant to be going beach, everyone wearin suits like. Our day just got a whole lot worse, it started LASHING.....I mean pelting it down and we were wearing as little as possible, oh this is such fun...REALLY. hopped on the next bus we could find to south beach....drenched...

WEDNESDAY we decided we'd go into downtown miami since it wasnt that far away and be nice to see somewhere different! got the bus, which is so cheap $2 and its about 10-15mins on it. I got talkin 2 two irish girls from cavan who are on the J1 visa over here to work, they seemed really nice they were lookin for work in town cause there isnt anything going on south beach. We went to Miami port, which was cool. lots of boats and really big buildings around it, think it was like the financial district/business district! Seen loads of cool architecture monuments around the city... also seen the old court house, which they let run down. Nice building. We went to mansion again tonight with gary, nick and 2 new girls who checked into our room nadine & angeliqa from holland, wasnt great though no famous people or fashion shows...we got in for freeso not complaining lol....

THURSDAY
got up little later 2day and went to the beach about 3.30pm instead of early like usual it was really cool out sun wasnt not half as strong as normal. There was nick, rhona, nadine, hamsan(works at hostel) angeliqua me & some other dude we walked all the way along the beach to the end and we saw where brooke hogan lives and other famous people have there condo's...we could also see downtown miami from here really close! we didnt bother going out 2night since we were out lastnight

Were leaving on monday night for las vegas....WOOP WOOP Met some really really nice people here in miami from the hostel and have made some good friends from all over the world weve learnt a little bit of each language so were sorted lol. Alot of the places here are spanish speaking too which is tough enough sometimes. The hostel was nice, atmosphere was great, the travellers were lovely. Only thing i would say is my bed was like a ROCK, and my ladder was so dodgy i dunno how ive lasted this long without falling into a heap o n the ground lol ;-) Staff here are nice, well some...others are plain ignorant & dont give a shit cause they are working for free accomodation!!! Food is weird in supermarket u cant get like beans, spaghetti, normal butter, mushy peas(my favourite) and none of the cereals taste the same like kellogs special k are like really different....how can that be??

Also did i mention, I seem to attract all the french men???? I managed to attract like 2 french one week and another one 2night, hmmm pretty strange. why me? haha

Adoro Miami= I love miami in spanish
Nueken en de gueken= fucking in the kitchen in dutch (thanks nadine, haha)
Je voudrais de guniness= I like guinness in french.

These were all taught to us, hahahaha very useful thanks guys!

Just thought id add in the fact i spend 3 hours in hospital lastnight because i had a rash all over my body(legs,arms,back) and was freakin out....how nice, its not as bad as sounds though. Bacically the doctor told me that i got it from bed linen at the hostel....and the hospital cost $640.00 for doctor & medications! Had to cover my whole body in yucky white cream all over my body head to the soles of my feet. I gave out to the hostel and she made out it wasnt there fault and i demanded my money back that i had spend staying there which was $150.00 at least thats something!!

Other than our 2 bad days miami has been unreal! :) :) :)
