Cathy's Beach Connection
Formerly known as French Connection A three hour jaunt and we were in beautiful Jupiter, Florida. Our good friend, Joe Edgley and his family, live here. Lill, Joe's wife and my dear friend, passed away one year ago on April 15th. She is missed deeply by all. Her silent presence was felt throughout but her absence was apparent. It was so nice to see Joe again. And adding to the delight was his son, John, who joined us at our favorite café: French Connection...now known as Cathy's Beach Connection. This was the first restaurant that Lill & Joe took us several years ago. It made a lasting impression on us with it's simple outdoor, relaxing atmosphere. Their grouper dinner is scrumptious. That is what we ordered this time, also. Consistently perfect. If in the area, make sure you go here! Lulu didn't waste a minute making new friends. Our waitress, Ammanda, was her favorite! John is even more handsome now... if that is possible. He owns and operates his own very successful crematory business as well as a crime scene clean-up business. He is one busy fellow. I always tell him I would work for free for him if we lived in the area. He says Lulu & Ammanda
Lulu was so excited he would bring me on. Maybe he can set up a satellite business in Wellsville......probably wouldn't get as many clean-up's, though. After lunch, we drove out onto Jupiter Island where all the "Famous Got Rocks" live: Celine Dion, Tiger Woods. Most of the homes are so shielded by the shrubbery, you can't even see a house....let alone figure out who lives where. Lulu posed outside of one location but we have no idea who lived beyond the fence....it could be one of the "Stars".....I am believing it's possible, anyway. We stopped at the Dive Bar for "one for the road". It had a beautiful, waterfront setting. Joe said the condo we faced as we toasted one another is where Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells live. Joe is still the gentle, sweet and kind man everyone knows. It was great to see him and sad to bid farewell as we headed back home to Kissimmee. Stopping at the roadside rest on the Florida Turnpike, I had my "dream-come-true". One of the eateries inside is The Earl of Sandwich. OMG.....another fantastic tuna melt to end such an enjoyable day. Charlie the Tuna is giving us a high-five!
