We are near Jenson Beach on Hutchinson Island, Florida. Our "park's" lots are individually owned and VERY close together. No trees, no views; but a wonderful "gated" beach compound with clubhouse, pool, deck where members/visitors can entertain, lovely view and great beach. Security is huge here - everything is gated, locked, private! We even needed a key to get OUT of the pool area! Hutchison Island itself is a string of condos on a beautiful beach - a few strip malls - no restaurants to speak of (but we did get great pizza and wings from Sunrise Grill & Pizza on Super Bowl Sunday. The nearby towns include Fort Pierce, Stuart, Vero Beach and Port St. Lucie. It's our first foray into this part of Florida. The beaches are lovely. The little town of Jenson Beach is funky and arty. We ate at Concky Joe's on the Indian River almost adjacent to the Jensen Beach Causeway. It was fine; doubtful we will ever tire of grass roof restaurants, seafood and drinks with palmtree stirers. We explored the lovely little town of Stuart and had lunch at Duffy's, a sidewalk cafe near the village square, walked around among boutiques and galleries, some

of which let us in with our ice creams. Downtown Stuart is compact with a few adjacent parks sporting great views of the boats and marinas on the St. Lucie River. Sub-funk Archie's near Fort Pierce was colorful and attracted a dinner crowd; after happy hour brews we went on to the Tiki Bar at the Fort Pierce Marina. Must be lovely (stay tuned)! One drawback of grass roofed "tiki" restaurants - they leak! But we found a dry table for 6 and had a great meal.

The sign says "out of service." If this is Bacchus (Roman) or the Greek god Dionysis, the art has been "sanitized." So, this ancient god of wine and revelry and naughtiness is rendered "out of service" - like a gelding!

I'm heading to FL tomorrow (Thurs) and will be in the Villages until Sunday then on down to Melbourne for a day or so, then to Vero Beach for 4 days. After that, over to Sarasota to visit friends there and then up to Weeki Wachee to my stepdaughter's for a few days. Whew!' Will play golf with Joe and LJ on Wed the 11th, I think. Joanne Sole will be there, too. Jayne
