Behind the Scenes-"Fresh Water Springs Underwater Photo-Shoot-March-2014"

We wanted to get out of town and organized a last minute get away to one of my favorite spots in the planet. The Fresh Water Florida Springs. I announced a post on FB that we were going to be shooting in different locations if anyone wanted to show up to come an join us. It was hard for most people to pull it together last minute but I wanted to give my models the opportunity to at least try to make it. The post is below. Like any other last minute get-aways we didn't really check on weather and we only did when we were already on the road. Ha. rain was coming for saturday. Oh well lets get there...as long as there wasn't any lighting we could still shoot.

We loaded the truck on Friday and hit the road just after lunch...we were in no rush and didn't want to forget any equipment. Arrived to beautiful Gainsville late on Friday to a wonderful hotel with great view to the water ways and awesome trees. I forced Steve to take some photos of me there...it was so pretty. The next day Steve run into a very interesting subject which I will share images of later (if the photographer gives me permission) and I wanted to play with my fabrics, settings, tripod and freshly acquired go-pro. About the go-pro...the only complaint that I have is the batteries I just purchased are not charging so I could only use it the first day. Bummer. A couple of videos below. Then later in the pm I got thrown in the water and got to wear Erin's hair and try the poses my models complaint are impossible...oh well...see the results below.

We spent until Sunday scouting different spots and then moved on to Crystal River to our usual hotel. Weather was about to hit so when one of my models and her boyfriend showed up I suggested to shoot in the pool as opposite of going out on the boat and getting caught in the storm out in the wild. We threw the boyfriend in the super cold water and got one shot before he jumped out of the water quitting on us. We almost got in on video but that is when we found out battery wasn't charging....so much fun. On Tuesday morning we woke up before the sun and headed to try to catch the last manatees of the season...but the only mom and calf in the area were sadly being chased down by all the tour operators in town. We decided to turn away from the crowds and do a fun "Underwater Fashion Photo-Shoot" in the wild.
