The temp was 52 inside the camper when I opened my eyes and Oscar was already in bed. That’s why I was so warm. What a great temp to sleep by.
Same routine at a leisurely pace. Oscar and I walked in the woods for a while then headed back because it was a have-to day. I had to get the oil changed in the camper. Unhooking didn’t take long then it was stow all the stuff that would fly. We were on the road for town by 10:30. I found Walmart and after a little time passed we got registered for the necessary maintenance. I had to lock Oscar in the bathroom so he didn’t eat the guy driving the van into the service area. I went shopping and bought flip-flops, water, milk and nail clippers for the caged beast. All told it took 2 hours, where was jiffy lube when you needed them.
Then it was off to find internet service. Guess who had a big sign out front saying free wi-fi , my favorite Taco Bell.. I ordered a taco salad and a soda, even found a plug and proceeded to check e mail and send
setting sun
view from the spring to the Suwannee River out 3 blogs. Oscar was happy he had the run of the camper and the temps were cooler so he didn’t roast.
Then it was on to the gas station and back home for a longer walk through the woods. The temps this after were in the 60’s but the sun made it feel much warmer. It was bright and clear, a perfect day!
When we got back from the walk my nice neighbor came over and talked for a little bit. She and her husband are retired for 4 years and they camp all the time. They have an air stream trailer and a GMC suv to pull it. They are from Ontario as are several campers here. She gave me some places not to miss at our next campground.
The not so nice neighbors left this morning and left their camp fire burning. I don’t understand what people think sometimes but I guess they were distracted. There is a terrible draught in FL right now and just an ember could start a forest fire. I told the appropriate people and they were over with a bucket of water in a flash.
So Oscar had
dinner and was locked in the camper while I went in search of the perfect evening light picture. The spring was beautiful but the sun had faded so I headed toward the river. It’s the “way down upon the Suwannee River “from Georgia. There were 6 deer grazing among the cypress knees totally oblivious to anyone nearby. I got my evening light shot! Then it was on to the platform over the river where you can see fish and turtles and ducks, vultures, egrets and all kinds of water birds. It was a fun time playing with the camera and the many subjects, but I was getting really tired so I headed back.
Tonight is organize and stow stuff because in the morning I am going to the airport to get my sister Dedie. And I bet she runs me around and around. Early night….M
