Our layover sucked in Minneapolis due to a freak hail storm, but otherwise uneventful.
Upon arriving to Baltimore Washington International, Linda (Jon's Mom), was on the lookout.
After reuniting with folks, we spent our first day in DC at the zoo. Beautiful zoo indeed, especially with the new Asia Trail complete. We got the chance to see where the American tax dollars are going... A Red Panda and two Sloth Bears. We also encountered an extremely outgoing peacock.
That night we hung out at Adams Morgan at Madam's Organ, and ate Ethiopian Food. We also had drinks with Jon's DC friends.
During down time we hung out with Michael and Linda and played Anna's game of Hoopla, as well as played catchup.
Max and his friend from school, Alex, took us to Baltimore for crabs. It was storming but we were inside. The storm also knocked the power out in Chevy Chase for two nights. Tashi and Henry (the dogs) were scared but resiliant.
One day we went to the Smithsonian museums on the mall in downtown and explored the museums, and watched two 3D IMAXs.
While we were in DC, we hung out with Jon's friends, Max, Anna, Bethany, Susanna, Daniel, Sarah, and Jeremy. Just to name a few (or all), and went out a few nights. Overall, DC was restful and fun.
Our last night we made dinner for us, Linda, Michael, and Sri. Beet Soup, yum.
