WASHINGTON DC – Day 2 April 19, 2012

Today we went to visit the sites at the mall (Smithsonian). It was a short walk out the front of the hotel and over a couple blocks. The first building we went to was the visitor center which is located by entering through the gates at the African Museum. Our hotel was situated towards the back of where most of the main buildings are. From here we exited out the back of the information building which put us on the road where all the main buildings are. Our first stop was the Botanical Gardens, then the Air & Space Museum then the Hirshhorn Museum. Everything opens around 10:00 a.m. We had dinner at Phillips Seafood Restaurant which is right on the water. It’s walkable from the hotel. Here they have a huge seafood buffet.
