We took the train on a fairly non-descript route from NYC to New Haven. Then we drove on a country road route through beautiful, lush countryside. We'd forgotten the meaning of green with our drought at home but this green we've never seen much before. It was lovely to take the slow route. We stopped at a Dairy Queen for an ice cream with mobs of junior baseballers, then in Mystic, a sea town for a wander along the streets. In a suburb of Providence we spotted an authentic looking italian restaurant. It sure was as there was no menu! Anna [View Full Entry]

Three days until I leave for Israel!!!! Can you tell I'm excited? I finally got my itinerary for the trip, so now I know where I'm going, but I think I'll leave it a surprise for all of you! Also because I'm not so sure that Seth won't change it up at some point...There is some pretty cool stuff; a kibbutz on the shores of Galilee, a stay in Bedouin tents (My grandfather wanted to know if we would be sleeping with Bedouins in the tent...He gets some very odd ideas). So what have I been doing... A lot of getting [View Full Entry]

I just spent the last two days with some amazing women in their eighties. My grandmother had a reunion this weekend of the year abroad she spent in Geneva her Junior year of college. Seven women cam, and I tell you, if I can be like they are when I am 82, I will be a happy person! Can you imagine going to spend a year in Europe, just after World War II? They traveled over on a converted troop ship, stacked three bunks high, and landed in England, went to the Follies Bergere with a bunch of young men recruited [View Full Entry]

Ok, well, I'm glad that I decided to spend a bit of time figuring this out, though to be fair, I think any program would have kicked me off after the hour long sidetrack that I took. Maybe I need to go for walk... It is rainy and cold here in New England, which is why I've finally sat down to do all this stuff that I probably should have done on Monday, like get my travel insurance and such. Oh well, better late than never. I did get my Skype account up and running, and now I have an online [View Full Entry]

Hi, my names Robin and I live in Connecticut. My best friend Sara and I spent a lot of time with Gulliver starting from when he was born and then taking him on an Easter adventure. We colored eggs, ate dinner and visitied with family. Though Gulliver seemed to have a diffrent agenda when we caught him stealing cookies, running around the house, and nibbling on the ham. However, he did meet a local and colored eggs with us. We are going to send him to my cousins next and see what kind of adventure they take him on! [View Full Entry]

Up bright and early after a late night hanging with Jess. We had a school show and quick load out before grabbing lunch and hitting the road. Well, first we hit the famous UCONN Dairy Bar, which is fresh homemade ice cream and pretty fantastic. I got an ice cream sandwich made with cookies that were almost 6” across and filled with almost 2” of ice cream. It was intense. And messy. Then we hit the road. Kyle and Dana dropped Sarah and I just a little way up the road, at a hotel in Hartford, Connecticut and continued on to [View Full Entry]

The last few days have been varying degrees of exciting. By varying, I mean they go from bored-out-of-our-skulls to running-around-like-chickens-with-our-heads-cut-off. I’ll just fill in the main things. Thursday was yet another day off. It rained; Sarah got a free massage at a spa; we spent most of the day watching movies. Sarah and I watched both Mighty Ducks movies and laughed about how much they shaped our generation- the clothes we wore (which were ridiculous!), that’s where we learned smack-talk, your-mom jokes, and of course, the brilliant Averman lines: “The G [View Full Entry]
