After spending several days packing the motorhome and getting things done around the house, we were ready to leave for our winter travels. Got on the road at 1:35 a lot later than Wendy wanted but so it goes.
Our first stop was "11 Lucky Miles South" in Towaoc to gas up Winnie so we could make it to Flagstaff. Paid $3.42 a gallon.
Stopped for the night at the entrance to Wupaki National Monument about 236 miles from home. It’s a nice overnight stop and we’ve spent many nights there on the way to and from home.
Thurs. Nov. 10, 2011
Next stop was Safeway in Flagstaff for Gas. Paid $3.33 a gallon.
After getting gas we stopped at Staples to get ink for the printer and then had lunch at Del Taco...we really miss Del Taco since our closest ones in Durango and Farmington closed down for non-payment of taxes.
Made it to Scottsdale and stopped at Talking Stick Casino but didn’t see any RVs in any of the parking lots so I called the casino and was told they did not allow overnight RV parking but their sister Casino did. So we drove 7 miles south to the Casino Arizona-101 & McKellip. Motorhome mileage today 190.
Going to spend a few nights here so we can go eat on Veterans Day at the restaurants that are offering Vets free meals.
