blog 04-07-19 White Rock to Pueblo to Denver I have been traveling for the last two days through some of the most gorgeous scenery I have seen in a long time. That's not to take away from southern Texas and New Mexico where there was incredible beauty but Northern New Mexico and Colorado have the shining mountains and more moisture to make for larger and more robusk bushes, grass and trees. I am a sucker for a snow capped mountain. The journey started at about 6,000 ft in elevation and went up and down the whole way. I took the back roads which were 2 lane 60 mph highways winding through territory that looked like it was right out of a western, complete with a wild horse herd that crossed the road. The trail took me ... read more

Geo: 39.617, -105.015David did not go to school today on the school bus. Ellen took him, since this morning was "muffins with Mom". Ellen stayed an hour longer to help the teacher out.I had made David's lunch the night before, and even wrote a sweet "I love David, Love, Grammie" note written on the napkin.I got the girls up. Luke went to classes. When Ellen came home, we took a walk to Hudson Garden, right next door. Beautiful day. There is a small maze. There is a Pumpkin Patch also. I took lots of fotos of Emily and Lucy.Once we came home, I made lunch for everyone. Luke joined us also. Then I laid down for a nap. I first made Sherrie's recipe, Texas Taco Soup. I did not have Lucy sleep with me for a ... read more

Geo: 39.617, -105.015Ellen left for school/work at 7:10am, and I got David ready for school and to catch the school bus at 7:45am. Luke goes to Greek Classes at 8:00am.After walking out to the bus stop with David, I came back in and got the girls dressed and fed. I made english muffins and also fixed cereal for them. After Ellen came home, we took the girls outside (BEAUTIFUL day - 60 degrees), and had a picnic here at Denver Seminary. The girls loved playing in the leaves. For nap time, I decided I was going to have little Lucy take a nap with me. Good idea. Nope, probably a bad idea. She was restless. I told her she had to stay on the bed with me. She finally "tired out" around 3pm - 2 hours later. She ... read more

Geo: 39.617, -105.015Dad and I got up and left the house at 7:30am this morning to drive the 1+ to Littleton. We asked to go to church with Ellen and Luke - South Fellowship.org.We met them in the parking lot and helped get the kids checked into their room. The service was very nice. Afterwards, we had donuts. Then we followed Ellen and Luke to Denver Seminary to see where they would be living. Next door is a park/flower park. We walked through there. We had lunch at McDonalds. Although we wanted a play-land McDonalds, but couldn't find one.Afterwards, we came back home and Dad and I rested up for the upcoming busy week we will have, connecting with mom and dad and taking them to David's party, then to the airport, then keeping the g'kids for 5 days.I ... read more

What a trip it's been. A trip of a life time actually. I've been blessed to experience so many things, so many places and so many people. One of the greatest things was that I was able to experience all this with my mother, aunt and cousin. Three weeks together and we all still get along and have fun together!! We started in Vienna with our flight at 11:05am (that's 3:05am Colorado time) to Frankfurt, Germany, about an hour flight. We landed at the exact time our connecting flight was scheduled to load so in order to make our connection, my mom ordered a wheelchair. The man that wheeled my mom to the next gate was awesome. He was about 6'8" and his gait/stride was about 5' long. I had to run through the airport with ... read more

Travel Day ... BIG UGH!! Uniworld arranged for transfer from the ship to the airport in Brussels where our flights were departing from. We had to have all our bags outside our cabins by 6:30am and the coach was leaving at 7am. We went to the dining room for our final breakfast and enjoyed a bit of everything today!! An "everything 2 egg omelet", a small bowl of oatmeal, a mini donut, and some ham. This should hold us over for a nice while until we have to start eating airline food. The coach guide told us that the ride to the Brussels airport would be 30-40 minutes. There was terrible traffic and we did not arrive until 8:30am and many of the cruise travelers were worried about flights. We got in to the airport international ... read more

Sadly, we woke really early, completed packing, weighed both our checked bags to make sure that they are below the maximum weight of 50 lbs or 22.68 kilograms. Made a couple of adjustments and were ready for our 7:00am pick up for the ride to Charles de Gaulle airport via the Paris Shuttle. It only costs $40 euros for both of us including baggage so better an a taxi. The only thing is that like our super shuttle, they have several riders. There were already 2 in the van and the driver made 2 more stops but even so, it only took 45 minutes to get to the terminal 2 drop off. Plenty of time. For the first and longest leg of our return journey, we booked an 11:00am Air Canada Paris to Toronto flight. The ... read more
