traffic jam
this is the traffic jam by Jefferson We started out with such optimism. Then just outside Jefferson on Hwy 285 a motorcycle decided to pass on a blind corner and ran head on into a pickup. Two flight for life helicopters and an hour later we were on our way again. We made it to Salida only to come upon another accident - a small car turning in front of a large semi. Another road block. The next day we saw an accident in front of us - a small pickup clipped the back of a small car....car parts flying everyone. But we did make it into Cortez last night and had a very nice dinner with Roy and Cody Jamison. We started out this morning - again very optimistic. We had just a 4-hour drive planned and were on our way when our left trailer tire EXPLODED!! More car parts everywhere, but this time it was our car parts. We pulled over and were trying to figure out how to change a tire on a trailer when out of nowhere there appeared a car with four firemen in it. They stopped to help - lifting the trailer while the tire was replaced.
Since then the drive
traffic jam
this is the accident by Jefferson has been pretty boring. We're in Show Low, AZ - there is thunder and lightening and we have just 4 hours of driving left before getting into Tucson on Thursday - if there are no more accidents.
PS I think I ran over a dead skunk just outside Show Low. thankfully the rain is washing away the odor. AND we saw 5 (FIVE!!!) dead dogs along the side of the road in NM. Not all in one place. We think NM needs better leash laws.....or more optical offices.
