SEPTEMBER 7, 2014 Had breakfast the Village Inn in Craig, CO this morning. There was a guy in there that looked just like the “Angry Bluebird” picture. He was maybe five and a half feet tall and he must have tipped the scales at about 350. He was so damn fat that his shirt could not possibly cover the broad expanse of his belly. Fifty pounds of it hung below his shirt and above his belt. I bet the girls in there all thought it was very sexy. The egg white Mediterranean omelet was pretty good, but the men’s room needed attention. It is a hundred miles from Craig to Brown’s Park out to Maybell and then up Highway 318. Today was a long drive (over 400 miles) from Grand Teton Ntl Park to Craig, CO. We will over night here and head to Glenwood Springs, CO in the morning. We plan to spend the night there so we can go to the hot springs and soak in the wonderful hot water. It's been awhile since I have posted to the blog because we did not have Wi-Fi in either Yellowstone or Grand Teton Ntl Parks. I hope this gets me caught up...... read more

It was another pretty easy day today which is good because 6,000 miles is starting to take a toll on us. My shoulder is starting to ache earlier each day than it did at the beginning of the trip, and we're getting worn out earlier after fewer miles. So another easy day with just over 200 miles was nice again. We left Golden this morning and made a quick stop to see Buffalo Bill's grave. Neither Dad nor I knew that in addition to being a scout captain in the Indian wars, and of course running his traveling circus, he was also a Master Mason. From here we headed down I-70 about 20 miles to Colorado Route 40 which will take us almost all the way to Salt Lake City. We passed through the Rockies again ... read more
