Hello Dear readers,
Don't get too excited, I'm not actually coming back into the world of the blog. Instead, I'm just wanting to touch base with a number of family and friends before departing on my next adventure!
Starting May 1, I'm going to be leading wilderness expeditions with the
National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). My first course is instructor training in the Wind River Wilderness area of Wyoming from May 1 - June 4. After that, who knows? Here in the USA the school leads trips in Wyoming, Washington and Alaska, and the rest of my summer and fall will be determined after my first expedition.
So for now I'm signing off. Unlike my time in India and East Africa, there will be no phone access, no email access, no facebook scrabulous and no electricity. Just the items I carry in my pack. I hope to post some photos to my usual
photo page which has some new images from early 2008.
I've had a lot of fun in my first few months back in the states. I've spent a lot of time with family and friends in Indiana, before heading down to Florida in
February, and then a month in Seattle where I had some reunions with my colleagues from JGI Tanzania, not to mention a recent JGI reunion in the subalpine snow of Rocky Mountain National Park.
But now it's time to check out for much of the summer, and I look forward to catching up with everyone in a few months.
Happy Travels,
David

David: Great to see your adventures! I'm so glad you got to see Angel & Erik on the NW. Gary and I would love to see you if your adventures ever bring you to NYC or CT. Best of luck on this great trek in Montana. Sounds wonderful. Jennifer & Gary (from the crazy 3-day-TZ-tour)
I'm so excited for your adventures coming up with NOLS. One of my dear friends lead expeditions out of Atlanta, Georgia and he loved it. You are living it up D! Sending you good vibes from Thailand.
