I'm on my way home...well, this if you consider that I'm currently homeless since July, and that we are moving in our new appartment only just before Christmas. But still, I'm on my way home, and the best one, is that Tiffany and Leslie will be back with me for my next blog...coming soon! I love diving, playing golf...great wine...and yes, skiing too. I have had the chance to ski in the States at Lake Tahoe, Alta and Mt Hood...so a new discovery is awaiting me at Beaver Creek. You may never have heard of Beaver Creek. When driving from Denver, it's just the next resort after Vail, some people even actually call this Vail area...I'm sure you have heard of Vail! Then another 2 miles of precarious driving which Dan white-knuckled the entire way. The width was good for a car and a half. The dropoff from the road was one you'd rather not look down. And no guard rail. That took us to an elevation of 11,200 feet which is where our hike started. It was anything ... read more

Today was really two different days for us. The first half was waiting for the steady rain to ease up. Some shopping in Vail, some reading, getting a haircut - waiting for the day to begin. Before long we had decided to embark on some hiking anyway, and more than three hours, seven trails and about 10-12 miles later we had a remarkable day. The first few trails were hard, and uphill. The fresh rain gave the whole area a wonderful fresh smell of spruce, but footing was tricky ... read more
