Yosemity Valley, Sunny Side Campground,
26-10-2002.
It takes the four of us nearly half and hour to drag this 150 kilogram steel food storage container back to its original place on the campground while the japanese ladies give us high shrieked excited advice, most of it in japanese which I happen NOT to speak.
There're pamphlets all over the valley warning people to keep any food or drink locked up in these iron food containers to prefent bears invading tents and cars at night, and even during daytime.
I presume our nocturnal furry campground visitor from last night was after the cold chicken that Steve and Dawn had given me for breakfast last night when I had dinner with them.
Hard to believe that our shaggy friend managed to drag this heavy container at least 200 yards from its original place. He must have wanted that cold chicken reall badly.
I could here him moving around outside my tent grunting and growling, I had to pee but decided to wait untill all was quiet on the western front before leaving my tent and having a quick pee against a tree.
It's my last day in the valley and I
want to do some more hiking before the cycling will start again tomorrow. A 8000 feet pass is axciously awaiting me.
