After a great Thanksgiving, we woke up and Daddy and I grabbed bagles and lox to bring back for breakfast. Yummy. Then Daddy, Roz, Avo' Jay and I drove up to Santa Barbara. It was a beautiful drive with a lot of it right by the Pacific Ocean. Daddy said it was a lot colder than the beaches in Florida. Daddy had been looking forward to getting back to Santa Barbara as that is where he lived for 5 years during college at UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara). He really love that school.
We first drove to the city of Santa Barbara and headed right for the pier. It was a little foggy. I had fun throwing money off the pier and trying to make it into the target. Daddy thought it was creative and I was happy when I got it in. We walked the pier and went to the Natural History Museum (Ty Warner Sea Center) I had fun touching small shark, star fish and other fish. They had cool exhibits and Avo' Jay bought me a stuffed seal and a shirt. Daddy used to rescue injured seals and sea lions when he was living here
Santa Barbara Pier
Ty Warner Sea Center so I thought getting a seal was a good idea.
We then rode a bike that fit 4 people. My legs were to small to pedal, so I just enjoyed the ride and relaxed. It ws really fun.
We then drove to the campus of UCSB. It was really nice on a cliff right over the ocean. Daddy showed us which dorms he stayed in the first year. The campus was empty as it was Thanksgiving break, but we walked around a little and I saw the main plaza.
We then drove around the campus to the small campus town of Isla Vista where daddy lived for 3 years. He was craving eating lunch at his favorite little restaurant that had just opened when he arrived at UCSB in 1993. It was called Freebirds and they made awesome burritos. He had the "Monster Burrito" and I had the regular one which was still very big. It was sooooo goood and we all enjoyed it. We then drove around and saw 2 of the 3 places he live at. Daddy said it looked a lot nicer now than it did more than 20 years ago.

Freebirds in Isla Vista was a short visit with one of Daddy's college buddy, Bear. His real name is Barry Sanchez. He lived on Daddy's dorm hall and then they lived together for the following 3 years, 2 of which in the same room. He used to make fun of Daddy studying to be a doctor and now he is a surgeon. They had a really nice house and I enjoyed playing with their 2 kids who were my age. I hope that next time we see them we will have more time together.
We then went down to State Street, which is very popular in Santa Barbara. There was a lot of people walking the streets as it was "Black Friday" It was fun and since it was a little cold we stopped for some hot choclate. After an hour or so, we got in the car and headed back to LA.
We dropped Avo' Jay and Roz off at Susan and Marshals house in Calabasas. It was so great to be with Avo' Jay and so nice to meet Roz. I know we will see them really soon. We then head off for Aunt Amanda's house in West Hollywood.......
