I did not go for walk. R went for a long, uphill walk upto Prarthu's college. Took him an hour to reach. Total of 2hr. 30 mins walk. 12.30 Sri, Shanthi, AJ, uncle, aunty, R and myself went to Artesia for lunch. Reached only at 1.30 because of slow moving trafiic. Opted to go for buffet lunch at the India Restaurant. It was full. Managed to get a table in 5 mins. After lunch Sri had to go for a meeting nearby. We waited in the lobby of a Days Inn hotel, while the others went grocery shopping. Back home by 4.30. Later in the evening Sri, AJ, R and myself went to see Prathu's college. On the way back Sri showed us the 2 houses where they lived earlier and the land which he sold ... read more

Monday 14th March – First Taste of Los Angeles All packed in Waikiki and a trip to Honolulu airport to fly out to mainland USA and see our very good friends in LA: Brian and Tanya – How wonderful to see our old friends again, with whom we shared many happy times, in London, Bournemouth, Chicago and LA. Norms Diner – Despite a late arrival, a great old US diner beckoned and we eat at the institution that is Norms. Tuesday 15th March – Kicking Back in California The start of a relaxed end to our travels with no real plans, plenty of good food and excellent company: The Back Bay – Just a stone’s throw from the apartment and we were walking alongside one of the many waterways that spill out to the Pacific Coast ... read more

I’m new to TravelBlog, so let me introduce myself. My name is Robert Felton, and I got my first taste of adventure travel while hiking through Volcano National Park in Rwanda on a gorilla trek. Scouts were sent ahead of us to locate the gorillas, and it wasn’t long before the guides had us follow them along a path they cleared through a dense patch of lush green nettles. And there they were… a small community of gorillas, and we were right in the middle of them. It was breathtaking. After that trip to Rwanda I started researching future adventure travel trips, and soon I had a lot of great information that I thought would help others. So, I built a Web site to share all that I had learned with others interested in finding great ... read more

...At Angel stadium! Quick trip turned into 2 days of travel. Flew to Toronto THEN Santa Ana airport (which is John Wayne airport but displayed as 'Orange County'...my ticket said 'Santa Ana' but the gate said 'Orange County') then on the way back Santa Ana to Denver...oh well...ended up with over 6000 miles instead of the usual 800! Flying in toward LA I always look at the housing developments below. They remind me of doodles I use to do and then I can't help but think 'You moved the headstones but you didn't move the bodies' insert creeps here! Hotel turned out to be a Motel drive-up two story deal like where you would stay in as a kid when you weren't at the campsite. In the end I actually adored the place. Had a great ... read more

Ahhh!!! My amazing trip starts now! After a day of frenzied packing and last minute store trips, I think I am ready to take off on this crazy trip of mine! So welcome! This will be my primary means of communication with most of you, as I will not have any phone service while I am abroad. If you need something specific, feel free to email me or skype with me. I should have internet access for a good portion of my trip. Where am I going? What am I doing? Well, after months of planning (and training for the latter portion of the trip) here's a rough sketch of where in the world I will be: May 25-31 - Exploring Ireland May 31 - July 7 - Germany and surrounding countries July 7 - Doha, ... read more

Auckland Airport Day 76 December 16, 2008 I am sitting here bored in the Auckland airport waiting for our flight to Tokyo. The TV is on and I’m seeing that there is a rainy weather forecast for the next week for most of NZ. That helps ease the sorrowful pangs of leaving. We saw a lot in our 33 days in NZ, so no regrets other than wishing it could have been 63 days. We are leaving with good feelings about NZ. It is a country with beautiful scenery, friendly people, great wine and food, and LOTS of sheep. Fourteen Hours Later Now we are on the last leg to LA. Can’t help but compare the U.S. airlines to others. At the beginning of the trip we flew to Sydney on United. We were very cramped ... read more
