Zwemmen

Arriving in the Hood Departing on Sunday evening from Taiwan and arriving on Sunday evening at San Fransisco. Because of the time difference my Sunday was a long one. From the airport at San Fransisco I took a train to the location of my hostel. Walking through the neighbourhood made me soon realize this was one that makes you walk a pace faster. It is what you see in movies. People hanging around looking not so nice and the atmosphere was not very pretty. But well, I just walked and eventually reached the hostel, which is really good by the way. [View Full Entry]

My recent trek to NYC to visit good friends and eat delicious foods helped me realize that some people can travel the world, but never really know their own country. So, as I feel it is my necessary duty as a true friend, I've decided to play tour guide to someone close to me and convince him of San Francisco's culture, class and equally enthralling cuisines. A week long adventure mixing beautiful weather with hidden secrets should open his eyes to the tranquil beauty Northern California has to offer. Intended itinerary: Muir Woods, Twin Peaks, Coit Tower, Alcatraz (by passing Ferry [View Full Entry]

While the last few weeks of my trip were a bit of a bust, I have pretty much fully recovered from the flu and am quite happy to be back home in my beautiful city where so far, no one seems to not want to be around me based on my swine flu history. I did attempt to make lemons out of lemonade and spent the last few days in Australia in a small beach town about 3 hours North of Sydney called Port Stephens. It was very pretty and I managed to do a few fun activities while I was [View Full Entry]

Finally arrived after 13 hours of hell on the plane. We did get an emergency isle though so not too bad! The guy next to me was a uni student from Wollongong who got a scholarship to play basketball in the states. Pretty awesome stuff for a young guy from Aussie. Then there was the gay night club.... These two guys stood up nearly the whole flight. Drinking and flirting with each other. At one stage there was a kiss and I looked across to share my gossip with Shell only to see that she had the blanket over her head. [View Full Entry]

San Francisco is too well known from all of you, so we won't go into too much detail. It is a real city in the European understanding, a city where you can walk, take the bus or the tram and leave your car at home. We stayed in a B&B in the Castro, the 'gay' neighbourhood where most of the action in the movie 'Milk' happens. As in other SF neighbourhoods, most of the old Victorian houses have been restored and it is really nice to walk around. It is not possible to speak about SF without mentioning it's bay, the [View Full Entry]

The homeless and mentally ill of San Francisco are surprisingly accomplished at chess. How I should come across this notion, oh best beloved, I am sure you are gagging to be told. Well... As Keenan and Kel (Peace Be Upon Them) once said: awwwwwww heeeeerrre gooes! There is no end of vibrations between the sprawling blocks on the North side of the city. My stay here is chiefly of instrumental value this time around - gathering equipment for Burning Man which I do not know I need yet is the mission statement. I carry out this arduous task in parallel with [View Full Entry]
