It felt good to get back to the structured lifestyle of the USA after recharging our batteries in Belize. Although we didn't get out of the airport until gone midnight, we had our hire car ready and waiting for us there and we managed to find our hostel without too much trouble. My first worrying San Fran incident came very early in our stay. After checking in I had to park the car about half a mile from the hostel and walk through a dark, quiet residential estate to get back. In less than a month I will finally be in Buenos Aires, and needless to say, I am getting more and more excited each day. Also - my funding just went through today, which means I can now start apartment shopping!!! I just bought a map of the city as well, so I'm starting to look up all the places I want to hit up while I'm there. After some issues in what was my current job I had to visit the "Silicon Valley" to attend some business, so this was the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the states...San franciso. San Francisco - a city I've always wanted to visit (from watching every episode of Full House when I was younger?!!)... and it did not disappoint! A beautiful city, very pretty and green, with a beautiful harbour - I guess it reminded me of Wellington, with it's arty culture and steep hills! So I am home. After what some may consider a long trip, and others a short one. I counted 30 passes through immigration in 12 countries on 4 continents. I had a fantastic time, but I am a bit tired of traveling (for now). I sort of got to the point where everything started blending together. I found that my incremental enjoyment for each new place was becoming quite low, and that I really wanted to have a bit more stability in my life. After arriving in San Francisco, we were shuttled to our hotel room and discovered two things - 1. That USA drivers are absolutely nuts and 2. that our hotel was in a dodgy area (lots of homeless and drug dealers). We still had a great time and saw the golden gate bridge, alcatraz, went for a walk to union square and caught the cable cars and saw how beautiful the city could be on our City Tour.
