Waiting for our Flight out to San Francisco connection to Maui, Hawaii! Well, i think i screwed up things this time. Becky and i sensed for the dates and times for our flights to Hawaii, as well as the airline - just to be safe. Later i received an e-mail saying that our flight had been changed and we were given a new itinerary. When i viewed it we had a 4 hour layover in San Francisco. I thought this too long for me. I was concerned about fatigue and other health issues. So, i called the airlines, explained my situation and they generously changed it so that i had only 45 minutes layover. This, i thought, was great.
We departed Phoenix in total preparation and expectation that we would be in Maui by early evening. Before we even landed in San Fran our pilot informed us that fog had backed up many flights including ours and we might not make our connection. When we arrived we had missed it by 15 minutes. All other flights going to Maui had been booked by previous delayed planes. We were stuck in San Francisco - all twitterpated and no where fun to land, accept at a hotel and find a shuttle to take us

I just hear about possible weather condtions. Get on my computer to check it out. there. I'd like to say i was peaceful about this but, i wasn't. I didn't know why this had happened. When the path seems clear and it still goes awry... If i had not called and changed our flight, the flight change with 4 hour layover provided by Spirit/Life would have put us on one of those other outgoing Maui flights. At least we would have been there tonight. Oops!
I felt badly for Becky whom I had impacted as well. We missed a day in paradise, lost room costs and one day on the rental car. Additionally we has to pay for a hotel here in San Fran tonight and expensive meals for us both. And finally, we found out San Fran Airport is usually like this in the mornings at this time of year. "It is to be expected." our assistant explained. "Next time," she said, "go through Dallas." Damn!
Our gratitude goes out to United Airlines who provided us a discount voucher for local hotels in the area for our troubles. Our choice was Holiday Inn Express North and they are treating us well. Our room is nice and comfortable. After a bit of
Boom and Bust
After all the fuss, relaxing at last. grumbling, I finally shifted my attitude and got over it and we both relaxed. Becky took it all in stride, as usual. Bless her heart. It has taken me a bit to untangle what happened but, i ponder what i have learned. I tried too hard to make sure things were right for me and effectively didn't trust spirit who
was making it right for us both. More and more things come to me without effort and in subtle ways but, i keep getting in the way - not trusting that this kind of good really will come all the time and is here to stay. My Bad!
Anyone Relate? (-:
Blessings to all,
Lettie
PS I told Becky the title of this blog for our San Fran Fiasco was "Oops! Damn! My Bad!" and asked her whether she wanted to add anything. She just said "No, that about covers it."

Hi Becky and Lettie
So glad to hear that everything is going to be alright. Soon you will be in paradise. I just wanted to let Becky know that Dr. Z has a brain tumor and has been in the hospital for 8 days now.It is a meningioma but Class III due to size. So I will be staying to hold the practice together for now.I guess there was a reason that I had not found a job that was right yet. I also had job interview with Cory(Hygienist from Dr Lee) but decided it wouldn't work with her.Amazing how the world seems so small sometimes. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Love Peggy
